Isn't one of the reason why clubs have season tickets is to get a ton of money in up front? It helps with cash flow and all that. If City remain in the Championship If I were in Australia I think I'd only watch games "as live" the following day rather than stay up.
Nah can't stand doing that, unless it's first thing in the morning. Plus then I miss out on live discussion!
You lot should have stuck together and not renewed. It's because of people like you ****ers like them get some power. It is so easy to stop this scheme dead in its tracks.
If our supporters were united and organised stopping the scheme would be easy, you're right. Unfortunately our supporters are not organised or united. Organising a boycott isn't easy and we are a million miles away from organising one that will be effective. Luckily the scheme gives us time to organise our forces. As long as we give 2 months notice we can organise a boycott any time we want to. 6,000 people cancelling their membership at the same time would give the Allams something to think about, especially if we are outside the Premier League.
I'm afraid that I support Evington in his view,if everyone just rolls over then the Allams are bomb proof. Who are these people who are signing up, they are just allowing themselves to be walked over and at the same time betraying the young children and older fans. The ones that say it doesn't effect them because luckily they are in the middle group of people who get a cheaper deal, remember it will effect you one day. We obviously have some incredibably selfish fans who don't give concessions a thought. If everyone had waited the scheme would have collapsed, its too late now the children and seniors have been let down by fellow fans who only care about themselves.
How will not buying a season pass work if we get promoted? £100 million will save the scheme whether we renew or not. How are we going to get concessions abolished if we have no protests in the ground?
I wouldn't disagree with a lot of your sentiment, doing nothing (or worse) on key issues in the past has empowered the Allams to the position they are now. I'll not join the membership scheme, but that's my choice for my reasons. It's impossible to get everyone to do the same and everyone will make a decision for their own reasons. That's just a reality. I still believe some action relating to the money seats could be the most efficient way to send a message. I also still think the closure of the upper west is being over looked, and that that's a mistake.
Fully agree DMD as we sit (or sat) in the upper stand, it is just as an important issue but seems to be slipping through the net. Obiadiah, you are obviously one of the fans who believe that promotion will solve everything. The £100m means nothing if the ground is only quarter full. But lets not let important issues get in the way of watching the big boys every week. And of course,we haven't got promoted yet so the argument is incidental. Everyone is allowed to make their own decisions about joining and I hope the ones who have are content in the thought that they have really supported their fellow fans.
If you go on the OWS and click on 'Membership Scheme T&C's' you get the correct ones, but if you actually go online to sign up to the new membership scheme it asks you to agree the terms and conditions and those shown are the old ones for this seasons passes. They've cocked it up.
I will make my position clear. The Allams treat Hull City fans like cattle, they move us around the ground as they please. They have no respect for us and have now abolished concessions and may close the West Upper altogether. Promotion will put £100 million into their back pockets. They could use £5 million of that to cover any boycott and still be left with £95 million to spend on players. I don't think they'd care if the ground was half empty as long as they did what was morally right for them. They would have achieved their objective, abolished concessions and not having to rely on our money. All we would be left to do is to boo from the side-lines. Of course, most of those boycotting the matches will find something else to do on a match day and stop booing. There will be no pressure on Ehab to change his mind because we won't be there to remind him week in, week out what a disgrace this scheme is. Its nothing to do with watching Rooney and the other big boys. Its about what is the most effective way of getting rid of this scheme. Despite everything that has happened on the pitch we may still win at Wembley. Any protest has to take that into account. I've been to two home matches since the announcement. I've seen no leaflets calling for a boycott. Nobody has stood at the KC trying to convince me. I've seen no meetings or demonstrations called to take a boycott further and discuss what else we can do. I expect no one will be outside the KC tomorrow trying to persuade fans to boycott the scheme. A successful boycott requires hard work to make it effective. Unfortunately we are nowhere near that level of organisation.
Seems odd. Each time I've looked previously, and again just now, each link I've tried takes me to the right ones. I guess it's just that one link for those eligible to join. Seems which ever company runs that bit of the site needs an email to point it at the right one.
Obi,haven't you seen all the post's on here (including mine) saying they will protest by not renewing? If more people did this instead of saying, great it cheaper for me and renewing it would have to effect their opinion of the scheme. Can't you see that?
I've renewed. It's my club not Allam's. I can support my team while protesting against the regime. It's not all black and white as you make out.
IF we go up (and its a big if) then attendances are pretty much irrelevant to club finances, so other than boycotting a live Sky game, there's very little we can do to change things. If we don't go up, poor gates will really affect club finances, then we MAY see a change of heart, but with these stubborn buggers in charge it may take a while. But until things change, I'm not going or paying any monies out to the club. The only exception will be membership of the OSC (they might ask us what we think, but I'm not holding my breath) and HCST of course
Its an individual choice for each person, as an exile its easier to miss games. I'm not judging or criticising anyone. almost everyone wants the same thing so we need to unite together against this scheme and the seat moves
This may or may not be an idea worth considering. If a game is chosen at which fans turn up to protest but refuse to enter the ground, how will the police or stewards ensure the public's safety during that protest without adding further police and steward resource. It will cause chaos and receive wider publicity worthy of the cause. At the same time it might put a few extra quid in steward's pockets but not in the club's.
I think fans have perhaps made a mistake in that I have not heard of anyone approaching our local MPs. Alan Johnson is an expert negotiator who the Allams are known to respect. Diana Johnson has been to the KC in the past and is very active in raising matters. David Davis may also be worth a try and is I believe the Allams constituency MP and would ensure both main parties have been approached. Turner the East Hull MP, a lawyer should also be tried.
