These years, although good in many ways have been for me tainted throughout what with the name change thing, (regardless of which side of the fence I was on) and now the membership fiasco. What a crying shame.
Completely agree, can't think of a three year period I've enjoyed less as a City fan (including the dark days of the 90s) which is ridiculous when you consider it's been Premier League football and a promotion push during that time
That brings tears to my eyes Filey. It's the only picture of the seat I've had for the last 14 years that I've seen. Some other **** will be sitting in it from now on, thanks to those unfeeling bastards in charge of the club. Cheers for posting that. I'll treasure it.
So ****ing sad ... To think what it could be like? ... Been downhill ever since. I would like to quote the scene from Porridge. "Don't let the bastards grind ya down" Not working though is it? Our owners are slowly but surely breaking the club apart. FFS it could be so different. I just don't ****ing get it....
I have some of the juniors i take grinning from ear to ear with an Egyptian flag wrapped around them. Could have been hero's Now reduced to worse then zeros.
The last 3 years have really tested my endurance as a City fan. The damage done by the Allams will in my opinion take quite a long time to heal. They have caused divisions right throughout the club - which is more than likely a catalyst for not been in the top 2 and my expectation of promotion via the play offs as incredibly slim. A club all pulling in the same direction is capable of incredible things, see Leicester City, our club has so many splinter groups all pulling in different directions it is simply not a recipe for success.
It has taken Assem Allam and his son 3 years to undo a decade of patient steady building of our club. It takes time, patience, imagination, goodwill and success to build up support especially in this fickle hard-up cynical city. It takes ego, vanity, pig-headedness and spite to piss people off far quicker. All that marketing money and salaries wasted by the short-sighted confrontational ownership. "It's my way or the highway" "Yeah? It's the highway for us then mate"
Back when common sense existed at the KC (from 2012)... Hull City @hullcity @TheLeaguePaper Just FYI our hashtag is #hcafc
