From the 'Team v Brentford' thread - Whack of interaction on social media that Gentleman Jim has been sacked after his comments during the game on Saturday. These were subsequently rebutted by Ivan Berry (FFC match day presenter) and Sammy James (FFC radio person and IT guru). The latter saying it was his fault that the sound hadn't been uploaded. No doubt GJ ruffled a few feathers with his observations. Among the unflattering statements his wondering "what they had been doing all week in training" [hands up all who've said that!] was probably top of the list. However, it would be a stretch to believe that the Club (that is, Sarah Brookes) would fire him for being truthful and saying it for what it was - really poor performance - and I'll take the word of the two boys that he has not been. That said, this conspiracy kerffufle arose after the game highlights were posted but today (more that 24 hours later and after the questions were being asked), the 90 minutes version have been posted and .. yet again the GJ's commentary has been omitted. Why? An obvious conclusion is that it was embarrassing to the Club and merited being cut. Frankly this sort of censorship (if that's what it was) is unacceptable and in its 'bubble' mentality demonstrates a further breakdown in communication with fans.
Since leaving London I've followed more Fulham games via GJ than in person. His "fans eye view" of matches helps those of us that can't get to games stay connected to the club. I'd hate this to be watered down. If we're playing crap then why shouldn't he say so?
