...****in' hell! When I think how long we've tried and failed to win that feckin' title, not to mention the bloody money we've spent! :( We could manage second with bloody Suarez who's worth Leicester like three times over! :(

Just been told off by Mr Wishi for swearing, too!

I'm off to slash my wrists.

    :( Goodbye.

It's a brilliant achievement for them but it means nothing to me ... hate all these people vicariously living the title win like it's their team that's won it, pretty desperate and pathetic really, but like I say congrats to Leicester and yeah, how long have we been trying to do that !!

They deserve it they've had a great season. An amazing story simply amazing. Gives me some faith back in football, it's not money that you need it's belief and hard work.

A great story, and one that'll never be repeated in our lifetimes.

Smashes the glass ceiling for the entire league

I was just thinking about the differences between leicester and west brom here when you mentioned smashing the glass ceiling.

what does pulis do differently that leads to consistently 40-45 points a year?

    I thought of

    a) very slow lumps up front with little pace

    b) playing 4 cbs across the back, not a real full back that gets on.

    c) attitude - he would never trust a player like kante let alone mahrez. Kante is 5 foot 6.. pulis would never buy him. Mahrez is not a pulis player

The big CBs heading the ball out and solid base is on the face of it similar but thats where it ends.

In short pulis holds teams back if anything.

Then I compared them to my own beloved team:

    a) real togetherness, not feigned together need. they seem old school in terms of getting together. contrast to LFC, foriegn players BBQ not anenlgish man in sight.

    b) focus on dynamic quick play not tappy tappy. kante wins it then they instantly look for vardy. Compare this to LFC who seem to never look for a ball in behind ever and perfer to pass it 5/6 times across the back then attempt to play it in the middle.

    c) competence. They keep it simple, they don't cough up a simple change nor give teams a second or third bite at the cherry.. they also don't make individual blunder errors like mingolet or lovern or skertl do.

It's an amazing story and I wouldn't for a second try to take anything away from them. However, I do think we need to wait and see if they can maintain it before we start trying to analyse what they're doing that has eluded so many of the rest of us for so long.

Many so called "lesser" teams go on an extended run occasionally - but they always falter at some stage. Leicester, to their credit, kept it up even though almost all of us felt that they'd fade at some point. We'll have to wait and see whether it's down to some magic recipe the rest of us could learn from or whether it was just serendipity.

As for individual errors - all players make them. Tthe measure of a good player is how few he makes. Apart from one or two games per season, I watch every second of every game LFC play, so all individual errors are duly noted and mentally logged. I've only seen 4 or 5 Leicester games and TV highlights so I'm no expert on each of their individual performances but I doubt that some of their players are significantly more error-free than ours.

It's been a great team effort from them. A team is more than the sum of its individuals, something I find myself saying rather a lot on here.

I hate this serendipity stuff. Yeah they had things in their advantage, less games, no injuries etc. But this is over a whole season, 38 games. The fact it's never been done before since the money has been swishing around in the PL suggests they more than earnt it and is a inspiration to any team who thinks they cannot do it. They may not achieve much next season but that happens to all teams. Look at United, look at Chelsea, look at yourselves. It's very rare than the Premier league champions from one yeah actually go onto to retain it the next. Only Chelsea and United have done it since the money has been swishing around

Whether they maintain anything near the level they've achieved this season will depend on whether they can retain the same squad and add the right characters to it during the summer.

Personally I doubt they'll ever come remotely close to repeating this feat, but given the disparity in resource, between them and the so called 'Big Clubs' - neither should they.

What they've achieved this year is truly unique. Ironic when you compare their success to the moaning prima donnas at Chelsea, who as the League Champions decided that they were going to tank on their manager, over some petty back room feud. Leicester are the complete antithesis of the side who helped them lift the title last night......

I'm not trying to undermine their achievement, I'm just saying that sometimes things just fall into place and it's not necessarily a magic formula that can be emulated.
Like I said we'll have to wait and see, but whatever the reason it's a magnificent achievement and they can be rightly proud of it.

I only caught a bit of the Chelsea- Spurs game last night, but I'm sure I heard the commentator say something like how Hazard is a great pro and just wants to play football . That made me think of how professional he was earlier in the season. <doh>

    I agree with saint.

I could see them put in 70 points or end up with 50. right now giving them the compliment and assuming they retain kante and mahrez they've a chance.

I think saint is very wise saying things fell into place... put them 5 points back with a team looking tops and i could easily have seen raneiri going for 4th and calling it great and we all would have agreed.

they clearly went the extra mile here.

I can see one of the big boys go do a 90 point season next year but equally there is SO MUCH CHURN with managers and players that teams like leicester and spurs holding players and managers can looking quite organised and consistent.

All I suppose I'm saying is I'd expect SOMEONE to put in a better effort out of city and cheslea but unless utd get shut and arsenal get shut they won't. I think you are looking for a 10/15 point swing here thats all.

LFC could get than just by ****ing well defending properly and scoring of set pieces as shown in 20 goals stat from leicester. So could cheslea etc etc etc

My view is Leicester have a small squad facing 4 fronts as of today so they'll most likely dump league cup immediately... however they can't dump the CL like that so they have league matches in and around CL plus players like vardy going to euros to cope with.

They have some work to do here to bring in better players and more of them. I feel this will define their success i nthe medium term. Can they get 4th min again? hmmmmm maybe. i'd not say no chance so thats compliment enough cos theres going to be 8 teams after 4 slots.

hahaha, a great pro my hoop.

He's a spoilt kid who thinks he's entitled to turn up when he fancies it. Last night he fancied it - as did the entire Chelsea side - driven by their desire to burst Spurs title bubble.

Sad when you think about it.

The 'Big Boys' will all make a better fist of it next season.

City, Chelsea and Arsenal (who will definitely spend this summer) will all be up there.

United, Liverpool and Spurs will be on the cusp as well.

Leicester and the Spammers not far behind.

yes the sad fact is kante and mahrez will likely be offered 200k per week or something and move... the rest... nobody would really want.

    look at thier side.

fuchs is vital for set piece and was a free. he's 30 and not getting younger
    Huth is 31 and slow
    Morgan is 32!
kasper the ghost is 29 now so he might be in demand i suppose
    Simposn seems a willing runner
Drinkwater is 26 now.. again.. is he the next lallan? i think not.. nobody is coming to take him.
Vardy is 29 and going to be 30 next january

    Can Demari gray step up?

Can they buy the types you are saying?

I could see them staying hard to beat but i could easily see the goals dry up a bit. they scored 64 goals so far. thats 1.77 per game. Knock 10 or 15 off that and they can be quite far back.

Utd have only scored 43 so far and that's why they are in 5th on 60 points...

I do think everythings came just right for them and fair play but its not nottingham forest here to win 2 in a row nor is it citeh or chelski...

I think yes chelsea will move to steady the ship and city will go nuts on CMS for gaurdiola. Not sure on arsenal. I think their issues run deep there,

UTd should if mourinho comes in improve but again deep issues to resolve there.

Spurs... well... I think they need bottle. I am not impressed by half thier team. The other half great but walker, rose, deir, dembele, ki/lamela... meh.. they need a really good CM I think first not attacking player.

LFC.. will buy 10 players i think.

Yup everyone will be wanting Mahrez and Kante.

I actually think Schlupp would be a good pick up who's still very raw. Otherwise everyone else is playing beyond their skin or too old and you just cannot see them being beyond special.

yup. the funny thing is like all the brats they throw the toys out and then realize the clubs they wanted to go to are not impressed by spoiled brats......

I think real were his choice and he's not very interesting to real right now.

players who just play and give their best are the ones that find things come their way I think. Berahino really ****ed his career up like this and hazard really made a good fist of doing the same.

Schlupp got displaced funnily by fuchs... the value of the set piece and solidity. he played most of last year and was a stalwart for them it seems for years but is only 23.

This is why i think chilwell isn't bothered signing a deal.

To be fair, that could be said of this season.

Chelsea off a title winning season with their legendary manage Mourinho

Arsenal were looking good with their standard settled squad and a WC keeper acquisition

City are city and spent loads of money. Admittedly on Sterling who i thought would be pap and on KDB who everyone could see would be class.

United actually started the season boring but strong. LVG is holding them back big style

    Next season

Arsenal are arsenal, top 4 beckons

Chelsea i think will have to grind their way through (Conte is will versed in this, our defence/midfield is just too slow and weak, ivanovic is too old and slow, terry is too od and slow, the only way we can defend properly is by sitting deep, but thats hard when you make mikel and fabregas your pivots + have half your team wingers and costa trying to press)

City i think will be challenging in top 4 like this season but we will have to see where pep takes them.
