Chelsea winning today could be strangely decisive. It'll mean Spurs will likely rest the Euro boys, and may be somewhat weakened, and it will also mean Chelsea get their tails up. Hazard scoring and assisting would give some comfort. Everton have a great record against Sunderland, but I think they are tailormade for a Sam Allardyce team.
You forget the pyschological effect on the Mackems, if we beat Aston Villa and they draw or lose against Chelsea there will be massive pressure on them going into the delayed fixture against Everton. They will be 3-4 points behind us at that point, surely all belief will be gone come that match.
Unless stubborn alladyce changes this team we will gan down, start Watmore and Larsson put PVA in midfield his he reading this ?
I reckon 6 points. I can easily see the ****s get seven points. They have been in this position before and been written off before. I don't underestimate them.
Good result for us today. Chelsea will be happy with the comeback and hopefully will just want to finish the season strong and spurs will be gutted to have missed out after pushed so hard for weeks on end.
I don't understand this Man U-negging. They are 3rd in the form table and if they'd got that penalty vs Leicester they'd be 1st. They're hard to beat, let alone hard to stop. Norwich will be really up against it Saturday. Watching Chelsea, I'm glad we're not playing them, whereas Spurs have lost matches (West Brom), leads (tonight) and a lot of players! It's no way cut and dried, but we're being given a lot of hope.
I know, man, one game at a time. I'm entirely braced for the last day being a simul-cast from Vicarage Road and Goodison!!!!
Hopefully Spurs will get any wounded animal behaviour out of the way in their penultimate game. Hopefully they can get a few more suspensions too...
I reckon we could know our fate before Spurs. Our potential security in the PL could be decided by next wednesday Newcastle to beat Villa, Norwich and Sunderland to lose against Man u and Chelsea which would set us 4 points ahead then if Norwich Draw or lose the following Weds against Watford and Sunderland lose against Everton we stay up, Spurs is therefore irrelavent and we can relax. This is being extremely positive tho!
If Sunderland and Norwich lose against Chelsea and Man Utd and we win against Villa then it's all in our own hands. Norwich and Sunderland would have to come out of their comfort zone as anything less than 2 victories out of 2 would see them relegated. They wont be able to defend their way to 6pts. Norwich have loooked dire in attack recently. If Sunderland receive a hammering from Chelsea and we comfortably beat Villa, perhaps we wont even need to win against Spurs.
No Lamela, Dembele and no Alli + deflated mood in the team. This is starting to sound like a dream but I can't set my heart on it.
I spend the majority of my week looking at the table, what players are fit, what effect potential results will have on the table! I just wanna stay up as soon as possible so I can relax!!!!
Dier should be banned as well for that assault in the last minute that Clatterberg utterly inexplicably missed. Everyone knew Dier was being sent off, including Dier, yet Clattenberg somehow forgot what he did in the space of 15 seconds. I'd like to know who assaulted Hiddink as well, get them banned. Can see it now - five players suspended, we have to win on the last day and somehow we fck it up because Mbemba picks up a knock so Steven Taylor returns......
Something has to be done, spurs picked up 9 bookings (PL record) and the ref/linesman missed/avoided a whole host of other incidents, I can see spurs getting quite a fine, hopefully tey chuck a few bans there way too. Danny Rose also done his hammy, Anderweild has a knee injury on top of lamela, dembele and Alli. Potentially more injuries against Southampton too! completely decimate their squad!
