Guidolin to Watford and Brendan back to Swansea is still the latest gossip.

Guidolin? Not for me. He has done what we paid him to do - keep us up - with a couple of games to spare too - so thank you for that but imo you can't have a whole season where the team plays so inconsistently and hope to get away with it again. If we want to do more than survive we must aspire to get a better guy in. Besides Roof, you've already acknowledged that with Guidolin we'd be in a relegation battle next season and I for one don't want that. I can't for the life of me understand why you do.

Simple Aussie : a lot of damage has been done to the club and we will be in tough next season regardless of who the manager is , hardest ever season depending on who we lose when the season is over .
I think we will be in a relegation situation no matter what we do as we try to repair what has happened the past few seasons .
I think are chances of relegation are less with Guido because of his knowledge of the club already , as compared to a 4th manager over a span of about 24 games in reality .... Starting over in the summer .
Now if you want to read into that that I want to be in a relegation battle ... Fill you're boots

West Ham away, with a fit Andy Carroll = one of our more daunting fixtures of the season. I think the only way to beat them is to go for the jugular with Barrow and Montero from the start. Carroll will score a hat trick, so we've got to try and score 4!

Who's reading into anything Roof? <doh> I did not state that you want us to be in a relegation battle. Please read posts properly. <ok>

Your take is that we've been damaged these last few seasons and that (on another thread) we will be relegated if we have a new manager. Furthermore, we'll be in a relegation battle if we keep Guidolin. I don't like those options and I don't agree with them either. I'd rather be a little bit more ambitious and I hope the Board are too. If we are that defeatist from the start then why bother?

But I don't buy it at all. Why you can so confidently state we'll be relegated if Guidolin goes is beyond me. We have some very good players here but we need someone who can bring in some new faces and motivate the team consistently. If he can do that there is no reason why we should be relegated. It's disappointing that you are that pessimistic and I cannot follow the reasoning.

Now that were safe maybe we should rest a bunch of our players in case we ever have to play Oxford again .
Like I say , not you saying I said , we are in for a very tough season regardless of who will be in charge , sailing close to relegation from the start .... Just a hunch from errors made from the top down .... I could be wrong but it's my opinion . Guido is my pick , he's not you're pick let's move on .

Maybe the wrong thread, Guidolin has done what is asked of him and for that I thank him. I just think he is to negative for me to take us through a whole season. I think we need to start again, I have no doubt our next manager has already been decided and will be watching with interest from afar who we will keep and what we need to change things for the better, both tactically and player wise. I would like a more progressive manager one who wants to go and win games when they are there to be won and yes sometimes to park the bus, I just don't see that in Guidolin. give it another 4 weeks or so and the chances are we will all know who that man will be.

They have generally been our mainstay and have more or less performed every week, this year. I would start the same team as Sunday and see how they go,

I've had a titful of Taylor's cowardly game also, if I was manager Kingsley would be in front of him, he has more of a physical presence, and not afraid to get stuck into the 50/50 balls, I'd play the same line up as the Liverpool game, but drop Taylor for Kingsley............<ok>

I admire West ham this season for the way they have quietly gone about their business, It's the best i have seen them play for a hell of a long time and were right in getting rid of fat sam......Before Guildo took over we rarely had anyone batter us and if we lost it wont be by many and usually the odd goal would do it. Our goals against was kept at single figures but now we have had a few hammerings and our goals against has gone into double figures. So im not confident on keeping the score tight anymore that will give us a chance and with west hams brilliant form and with a proper striker like carroll playing for them i think they will beat us quite comfortably.....i hope not but i have not an ounce of faith in Guildo's ability....

As long as Guido keeps getting us half the points available , after being parachuted into our mess , He can let in as many as he wants as he takes the squad out for a spin. , in safety

Since Guidolin came in we have 24 points from 15 games.

    In fairness, not too shabby.......

You're right, Taff. That was his brief and he's done well to do what he was asked. Not wishing to go over old ground but Dai has a point in that we do tend to lose games heavily of late and we are woefully inconsistent. We look like we could beat anybody one week then lose to also-rans the next. I don't think you can sustain that roller-coaster over a season and imo we are taking a big risk if we keep him on.

I will be delighted but amazed if we get anything at the Hammers.

personally I don't think guido is the person to take us forward, I don't like his team set up or his odd substitutions, I actually think we kicked on when he was in hospital and curt took over the reigns for those couple of games. I think we would have avoided religation if he wasn't brought in because when curt took over the mindset of the players changed, but as they say ifs and buts. but if he stays I will get behind him if he goes good luck to him, but please not rodgers

Call me old fashioned but I thought we pay their wages. I they are needed for the weekend then we play them, a wales training camp and resting for the Euro shouldn't even be a consideration in picking the side, every position in the league earns the club more cash. Mind you I wouldn't mind Kingsley in for taylor
