The way the BBC are chirping that it's 'great news' reminds me of 1984. Do they really think we are that stupid? Yeah, I'm really chuffed that I can still watch half of the races! Do FOTA have any say in this? They seemed unequivocally against it before?
What Pundits will Sky Sports have? (Also.. Welcome back Genji and Silver! Great to see you back here!)
this is the end. next will be the champions league, then the fifa world cup. bbc cant compete with sky on a financial level, howerver bbc will always have the viewers.
I've just stepped up my job hunting, so i can actually afford sky next year. This is what sky's sports manging director had to say "We will give F1 the full Sky Sports treatment with a commitment to each race never seen before on UK television." So translated into english, it means they will do a crap job, and turn f1 into a laughing stock, just like they did with every other sport they aqquired.
My love affair with F1 is pretty much over. Im sorry, this has really pissed me right off. The sport I love, selling its soul to the dark side. Murdoch may as well buy the whole lot. I was thinking "Oh I'll just buy sky" BUT I cannot afford the packages. Its just too expensive. Looks like I shall be back to the touring cars bigger than ever now. Why? THey appreciate the fans. ITV4 give us coverage that is unbelievable in getting to the action. When you go to the races, £30 max and you get access that is unheard off in F1. The FOM deal has made me think that F1 as we know it is about to die..
He seems genuinely upset about it. I wasn't expecting that, i just assumed he'd trot off to do the olympics.
For those wondering what Sky's packages and prices are here is a quick guide/glance. please log in to view this image I can only presume they will put F1 on Sky Sports 1 and 2, but to be sure I might just get the whole package(Sports Pack, don't need ****ty ESPN). I will get rid of my Freeview HD Box and get Sky probably within the next couple of weeks. I am wondering whether I should get it in HD or not....
Yes, I had thought that F1 for Jake was just another rung on his career ladder but it looks like he really does love it after all.
this is the reason why i never wanted bbc to have f1 in the first place. despite BBC doing the best job possible for f1, they simply could not sustain it for more than 3 years. ITV on the other hand could have. i was so happen last week then i though f1 would stay on free 2 view tv as there was storys about bbc axing bbc3/4 in order to save f1. how wrong was i.
This is what F1 on BBC1 is contending with on Sunday on the same channel. 09:00 - The Andrew Marr Show 10:00 - Sunday Morning Live 11:00 - Country Tracks 15:25 - River City 16:25 - My Family 16:55 - Songs of Praise 17:30 - Horrible Histories 18:00 - BBC News 18:30 - Antiques Roadshow 19:30 - Countryfile 20:30 - Inspector George Gently Well with that abundance of quality it is not a surprise the BBC does not need F1.
