    And Leeds in 1992 ??
Some are able to push on from the first (Man Utd in 1993) to something much bigger, others are not.
    As always, time will tell.

Things change, sometimes dramatically. Teams will throw money at the problem next season and it will all change again.

Spurs and Liverpool cannot compete with Chelsea and Man City when it comes to the money side, Arsenal will choose not to compete and because of that it will come down to managers v money. Utd will be in the mix as usual and Leicester? **** knows I really have no idea on how they will do next season.

There are other teams and because of the money situation I expect West Ham and Southampton to also be strong again, Everton now have cash and could improve again.

It's all up in the air fellas and we have no idea how it will go.

Oh, so now, as it suits your point, we're going back over the life of the premiership?? I had wondered what your next wriggle would be.

Nice try, but let's look at the relevant period that was in discussion, the last 5-7 years. Your net spend far exceeds ours, as does your gigantic wage bill! Yet you have stagnated.

Despite Arsenal clearly and easily outspending us in recent years on transfers, the real point is about wage bills.
That's what gets you the best players and allows you to keep them.
Last season's payments on wages would've ranked the top four as Utd, City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Premier League standings were Chelsea, City, Utd and Arsenal. What a shock.

So now it suits your argument, you've plucked out an arbitrary time frame. The 'relevant time frame' in discussion is 20 years as that's how long it's been since you last finished above us.

... all of our players, without exceptions, play strictly for the love of Leicester City FC, King Richard III, all the Walkers crisps they can eat, a festive Melton Mowbray pork pie at Christmas and a team bonding day in the Vale Of Belvoir during the summer FACT .... <nahnah>

So why did you use a different one, then? The Premier League didn't start 20 years ago.

All of the previous discussion has been about how we have slowly been catching you over the last few years. As I've pointed out several times, and you have tried to ignore several times, it seems that we have now reeled you in. Despite your far larger budget, wage bill, etc.

The point is, as I'm reiterating, is that you have stood still - stagnated. We have caught up with you, others will too if you don't move on.

And as I've said, it's taken you 20 years to finish above us, which will be by the skin of your teeth if you manage it. The discussion isn't just the last few years, it's two decades of you being behind us. This season changes nothing, unless you can repeat it year on year out whilst winning trophies.

We're gonna finish above Chelsea this season.

Forget all the titles and cups they've won over the last 10 years. We're clearly a much bigger and better team than them now because of this season alone.

Ignoring the point again. I won't bother to repeat it as you'll just dodge it again. You've stagnated and we have caught you up. Others will too if you're not careful.

Nice try, Tricky. But you haven't been right behind The Chavs for several years, as we have with Arsenal. So, it's a little bit different!...
