Tricky looking card for punters at Punchestown and the only one that really interests me is The Nipper in the lucky last for Mr Greatrex. His win at Sandown reads very well and I think he will toughen this out ahead of Willie's mare.Win bet 7/2.

A very interesting runner in that mares bumper 7.15 Punchestown is Montana Belle @ 50/1 Sid James and PP. If you ignore it's last run which was the Champion Bumper here last year where something obviously was amiss, its form reads very well. Excellent 8th in Moon Racers Champion Bumper at Cheltenham which has proved one of the strongest of recent times. It's previous form is none too shabby either. Makes it's debut tomorrow for De Bromhead against her own sex which is a big drop in class.

Coney Island 4.55 7/1 won well at Fairyhouse. Bellshill is obvious one in this race but I can't back any horse who ran at Cheltenham and Aintree.

Woodland Opera 4.20 7/1 won a decent maiden. Yard in great form.

    Each way singles and double

Think i've found a cracker at 14/1. No info just a personal fancy.

    4 15 PONTEFRACT - YORK GLORY

Now over 25lbs below it's last winning mark, been waiting for this lovely little grey ****er to win for a while but it's now with Ruth Carr which is great as i really like Ruth as she often gets the best and a lot of wins out of her horses, was always only going to be a matter of time since York Glory won again, still only age 8, has had 2 runs at Pontefract in the past and won both of them, has still been running with zest it's last few runs last year and I'm expecting him to get back to winning ways and start his career off with Ruth Carr today with a bang and then go onto bigger + better things as the season progresses

Elsewhere the main man in form D Brown has 3 runners, 2 of them owned by Fretwell, can't really see past all 3 winning again.

    Good luck chaps

Am on Moon Racer too! Got the 3's last nite which has how long gone - I think yday showed it takes a special type of horse to consistently perform at the three festivals and the Mullins horse has two hard races so won't be touching him - moon racer bumper form better than these lot so will take all the beating

Sandymount duke in the 4.55, was well regarded last year and hardly appeared this year being beaten twice. Will like good ground and was in my ten to follow so I'll have to have a couple of quid ew 25/1
    Cheers.

    FANNY PULLED OUT THIS FRIDAY
Sorry let me rephrase;Annie Power will not run now on Friday.
Was only planning on backing one nag today but i really like Woodland Opera in the second for Jesse H.Yard is in rude health at the moment with seven winners in four days and 7/1 is a nice Ew price.
I see Willie has pulled two of his runners in the bumper which will cause a nasty rule four to Moon Racer backers if the old boy obliges.

One to keep an eye on today.
Had this in my tracker for a while now. Being an Ellison charge, you'd think there would be money for it if it was primed. But gonna have a dabble at 25/1 just in case!
Think he'll go on the ground being out of Dutch Art.

    Suitor. 5.00 Ascot.

Well day one was an absolute bloodbath for punters.

Yorkhill, Vautour, Jenkins all beaten when massive favourites and today's card looks pretty tricky too.

Looking at the 3m hurdle, Bellshill bounced back when a narrow 2nd in an Aintree Grade One recently and he is 5/2 to go one better in an open renewal at Punchestown.

However, there are two others that caught my eye. Firstly, British raider EMERGING FORCE (6/1), who tumbled at the last when having a good handicap all sewn up. He could make the jump and is progressive.

However, Noel Meade sends one up in class as a Gigginstown outsider- A GENIE IN A BOTTLE 16/1, he should love the spring ground (Beneficial) and is another unexposed horse unlike one or two of them that are.

The Gold Cup is robbed of Don Cossack and to some extent Vautour. I hope Cue Card can dazzle again but he's had a hell of a season and you never know when they might just show that first sign of tiredness. Il take ROAD TO RICHES back at his true trip and on his ground, but I will cheer on Cue Card!

In the Champion Bumper, everyone seems to want Moon Racer and he was impressive last season, but first time out I'm willing to oppose. I really like the look of a massive outsider here in PRESENTING PERCY 25/1, who ran on really well behind BATTLEFORD on debut and then won his next start with minimum of fuss. That form has now been franked at both Cheltenham and Aintree on Grade 1s and with BATTLEFORD ruled out today, this seems as good an opportunity as any for a 25/1 shocker! Very Much So 12/1 can give him most to think about, winning a bumper at Punchestown on debut and then running with an enormous amount of credit after a near 2 year absence when a close 8th in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper. If there is progression from that run then we should see a bold bid today.

<laugh> Great stuff TopClass, in the old days that's what we used to call "covering your ass"!

Seriously, I agree, it's the end of a long season and Cue Card could well be ***ged-out for the time being. However, I could never back against him, so I'll be on him as usual. One of my all-time favourite racehorses, right from the word-go at Fontwell all that while ago (a jammy bet then, I would be the first to admit).
