Cynical view but because of the stand off between City and the HDM does anyone think the HDM would plant this ad in themselves to provoke a reaction and get a bit of free publicity and maybe brownie points from the supporters and maybe even sell a few extra copies ?

You missed the posts about it being a mate of mine who booked the add then?

    You know him as well.

When I started attending at Boothferry Park in the '50s I'm sure I had to go in the kids' gate. (I'm pretty sure it was the same at the Boulevard, though at my age the memory can get a bit tricky). Surely it would be possible for each bank of turnstiles (I have a choice of 4) to have one designated for concessions (maybe 2 out of 4 in the south stand?). Any cheat would then be much more obvious and stewards could spot them. Pretty much a cost-free solution to most of the problem. Or am I being simple?

At Man City, a father & son swapped places as the sons view was obstructed by a very tall spectator sat in front of him. This was picked up on CCTV and a letter sent to the address of the son (on a concession ticket) to ask why an adult was sat in that seat. Explanation from father and son checked on CCTV and accepted by club. No problem. (Told to me by head steward at Man City)
They have CCTV, its not ****ing rocket science for **** sake.
I don't believe that "fiddling" is the main reason. Its a price hike, but might take 2-3 years to pan out

I was thinking about this the other day but didn't know if it was feasible. Seems it is. You'd realistically only need to check a percentage every match with the proviso that anyone caught cheating would have their season ticket, sorry membership, revoked and receive a life time ban.

I also agree with your last comment.

They also have a red/green light system to indicate concessions to staff (from the ticket) when you enter the ground (I'm told).
I also think that pay per month will help business cash flow but am no expert

Only in that you think the Allams would do something so sensible.

Its not 'cost free' though. Stewards need paying and that appears to be a part of the problem.

When the Allams first took over, Ebab asked why we needed a kit man. He asked why the players couldn't wash their own kit.

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but how many stewards and ticket office staff could we employ for the cost of Ryan Taylor's wages.
And a damn site more useful they would be !
Hull City's wage bill must be massive, chipping away at the lowest paid staff is tantamount to re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
These people are supposed to be business men, arithmetic doesn't seem to be their strong suit either

Old gits? Esteemed older members of society, wise and kind, who deserve treating with respect by young whippersnappers who should treat them with the respect they deserve.

When Cellino took over at Leeds, he made the players pay for their kits to be washed and bring a packed lunch to training.

Very nice. Short but impactful. Whoever did this should get a job at the club.

You might agree with the sentiment but ****ing hell that ad is awful. Also, the suggestion that the topic of the membership scheme should be raised on Question Time is laughably parochial. It's really not that important outside of the KC. The doctors strike, ISIS, the EU referendum, the Hillsborough inquest, the Syrian refugee crisis, and Philip Green robbing BHS are all in the news this week and you think this ranks alongside them in importance? Get your head out of your arse.
