I have no doubt that police actions led to the tragedy. But for anyone to a conclusion that supporters did not contribute to the tragedy must be living in cloud cuckoo land.
Sick of hearing about it, yes it was a very tragic event, but like WC said, a lot of the root of the cause was caused by boozed up supporters who left the pubs late and caused a build of pressure outside the turnstiles.
& you can add the Hellenic republic game as well.... not that they caused any trouble there as well.... not pharking much!!!!
If Ken Bates had dis way, the fences in all stadiums would have been electrified - food for thought eh - and at the time, the OB welcomed the idea!! They already had barbed wire on them at Stamford Bridge!! https://news.google.com/newspapers?...AIBAJ&sjid=10gMAAAAIBAJ&pg=2134,4374486&hl=en
When I was in the LFB, we had a call to a window cleaner, poor bastard, that had fallen, arse first, on to some spiked railings. We lifted him off, very gently. He moaned and winced quite a bit as you may imagine, then, just as we got him clear of the last spike he said "Aah, now down again". Almost true story. When you're adults I may tell you the whole story. Not pretty.
