We've told the club what's happening. I'm not even sure they'd have grounds to confiscate a piece of paper or card would they?
I think they have the grounds to deny almost anything they like onto their premises. I think it's seriously unlikely they're going to try and stop thousands of people walking in with a piece of paper, but I don't think they'd be breaching human rights. I may be wrong and it may well be every mans right to be able to carry a piece of red A4 into a football stadium.
They can confiscate anything I guess, in their eyes they'd say it would cause unrest. I imagine they'd do everything in their power to try and stop it from happening if they got wind of it (if they have, this wouldn't surprise me at all) and it's not beneath them to tell the stewards to confiscate anything of the sort.
The club's officials have already been briefed on the nature and detail of the protest. If they want to frisk 15,000 for sheets of red paper, then I'd be surprised.
They barely employ any stewards at all outside the ground now. Are they likely to stand the cost of taking on some more at short notice to search everyone for pieces of paper? Probably not.
If they're confiscated just ask where you can pick your specific card up from at the end of the game, make them personal. & ask for a receipt. I reckon you could keep them there til gone midnight making sure everybody gets their correct card returned.
We as tax payers of the city are actually AAs landlord are we not? maybe a song about putting his rent up would be a good idea? ( or at least funny )
Different colours and names obviously, but something like this would be good. please log in to view this image
I think its going to be very interesting to see what reaction this scheme gets from away fans next year. I think there will be complaints and bad publicity for the club all year, which may have an effect
Hull City fans plan 'red card' protest over membership scheme please log in to view this image Hull City fans are planning to hold up as many as 8,000 red cards before the Championship match against Brentford on Tuesday night. The Hull City Supporters' Trust is organising the peaceful protest against the club's new new membership scheme - but says fans will be fully behind the team once the match kicks off. The club says the new scheme will provide supporters with value for money and cheaper passes for the majority of supporters. But opponents say they are unhappy with moves to scrap concessions for children and OAPs, and to relocate some fans to new seats. Trust chairman Geoff Bielby said: "We are encouraging as many fans as possible to take part in the protest and hold up the red cards. "We do not want to disrupt the game please log in to view this image . We want this to be peaceful but we also want to make a clear point that we are not happy there will be no concessions for children or OAPs. "We will focus on the east stand which is where all the cameras will be pointing. We want it covered in red cards and chant 'membership scheme you are having a laugh'. But as soon as the team kicks off we will get behind them as we always do. "We won't want people throwing anything on the pitch. We are 100 per cent against the scheme but 100 per cent behind the team." The club has made changes to the scheme in attempt to address fans' concerns, but Mr Bielby is urging City to hold further discussions with fans about the scheme. He said: "We want real consultation and debate on this. We feel the club has made a massive error. We want to club to come back round the table. "They want to stop people fraudulently using kids and OAP concessions but they are just creating another problem. People will get cheap tickets and then just move to the expensive seats. We need more dialogue with the club." What the changes will mean The club say more than "90 per cent of fans" will benefit from the scheme, which will be launched next week and includes: Monthly membership starting at £21. Savings of up to £282 a season, or 47 per cent. New Oyster-style smart please log in to view this image cards for entry to the KC Stadium. Closing the Upper West Stand, except when demand on match days is high. The current annual charge to become a season pass holder will be replaced by a rolling direct debit. Monthly payments will start from £21 a month – or £13 a game if City reach the Premier League – up to £51 a month. Family tickets for two adults and two children will start at £84 a month. The club said if City were to win promotion, the new structure would offer one of the cheapest season prices in the Premier League. However, the change will mean a large please log in to view this image number of fans having to move from existing seats to new locations in order to take advantage of the savings. Anyone who doesn't participate is a **** of the highest order. More than **** of the month, more than **** of the season. A simple but effective way to show disapproval with the membership scam. No one has to join any trust, group or club, you don't have to pay anything, you don't have to go out of your way, just take the card offered on your way and hold it up when everyone else does. Even if you are better off with the new scam you should support the action on behalf of those who will be worse off, the kids and OAP's.
It was a one-off thing that Amber Nectar did a year ago, they're not still for sale as far as I'm aware.
If anyone is free to help distribute the red cards, they'll be available to collect from The William Gemmell from 6.00pm and from the West Park Gates 6:45pm.
We may not get to the KC until shortly before kick-off and would hate to miss out on a red card so we are bringing our own. That'll be at least three in the West Stand Lower.
