    Nearly forgot this game...
Seems Meyler had a knock so wasnt risked Saturday. Wise move Brucey, wise move. So looks like another draw!!! I'd give Jake a rest, blowing on Saturday. Get Elmo back in for a run out. I'd like to give Robbo a rest too but there's only Clucas and he's no LB.

Hernandex took a few heavy challenges Satdee so i can see him not playing. I want to keep playing Diomande. Got to give him a chance. Aluko's fit again so he might get a run out. Maloney needs more game time.
Harry's made a few **** ups now so Alex might be back in.
    I'd go.

    McGregor

    Odubajo Bruce Davies Robbo

    Elmo Hudd Hayden Maloney

    Diomande Akpom

Think it will be a bit flat after Leeds. I'm going for 2-0 us.

    A. Elmo doesn't run anymore, he just ponces around and then sulks.
    B. Tymon at LB?

Tymon played tonight, he's obviously not going to play again tomorrow.

I doubt there'll be much in the way of changes after we played well on Saturday.

Ahh, forgot he may have played tonight, good point Sir.

Might as well just go for it - we've not really got much to lose now!

We're playing for advantage in the play offs, away leg first.

We must wrap Meyler in cotton wool for the play offs...we're a one man team, live with it.
    I'd rest Jake though too
I think he'll stick with Maguire, who should be fine as long as he doesn't need to turn round quickly, save Bruce Jr for Wembley!
Stick with Snodgrass, unless he wants to use the cotton wool too
Happy with Maloney, but I prefer Clucas despite some poor games
Upfront....hmm. Hernandez might benefit from keeping playing and keeping scoring, but he did get kicked around by those cheating ****ing TWS twats. Hopefully SB will play it the right way with him, but I wouldn't be unhappy with Anne and Akpom
    2-1 City
    No streakers
Crowd more interested in red pieces of paper than formations
Not a seething 'theatre of hate'
Bar staff will continue to be surprised that people might want to buy beer so will ensure that they don't pre pour any, or even get any cans out in readiness

Everyone knows about the brewery and pub on each corner bit, and the Brentford Nylon adds, but a quick google of "Interesting and historical facts about Brentford" returns "Sorry, there are no facts about Brentford." Which I guess could be a claim to fame, so the best I can muster are:

The floodlights at Brentford Football Club were donated by Chelsea Football Club.

The first drawing of the moon made with a telescope, and the first telescopic observations of sunspots, were made at Syon House in Brentford.

Henry VIII died on 28th Jan 1547. His coffin lay for the night in Syon abbey church on its way to Windsor for burial. Whilst there, his coffin burst open and his corpse was mauled by dogs.

Pocahontas and her husband John Rolfe lived in Brentford.

John Quincy Adams, the 6th President of the United States of America lived in Brentford, as did Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Shakespeare, Lonnie Donegan, and Nell Gwynn and her pet Griffin that King Charles II bought her.

Bernard Lee – actor, famous as "M" in the James Bond films 1962–79, born 1908 in Brentford.

    Greetings!

Hope it's a good game. We've rebounded from a dodgy run and aiming now for a top ten finish.

Like yourselves we're focusing on other games (Fulham on Saturday for us) so there could be a lot of changes which might leave us vulnerable if you play your strongest side.

Both of us score goals so probably gonna be nil nil. Enjoy!

Brentford no longer have a pub in each corner, The Royal Oak shut over a year ago.

Aye, the brewery thing is old hat too, and most would know that without google.

Not that it matters a jot, but it's why I never said they did, and excluded that so early on from the trivia list, which is daft things people possibly didn't know.

I don't really expect it to be taken seriously. I mean, I doubt Nell Gwynn had a real Griffin. <laugh>

Although, I was told that a covenant left from the brewery days meant that they were about the only club in the country that could show their games live in one of the adjacent pubs. I've no idea if it's true, but they were certainly showing an otherwise non-televised home game on one occasion I was there.

EDIT. Just googled and can't find any reference to the tv covenant thing, so it looks like I was having my leg lifted and was watching a dodgy feed. Obviously I knew all along and have never repeated this "fact". :emoticon-0111-blush

I didn't google it and I didn't respond to your post, it would be better for this board if you didn't respond to any of mine either.

Don't be so childish. If you don't want replies, don't post. Don't try turning a light hearted post into yet another dull, personal argument.

Like anyone, I'll reply to what I choose.

I would keep the same team as Satdee except Hayden in for Livermore, Jake looks a bit sluggish at the moment, so would give Hayden a go. The only other one would be whether Maloney gets more game time, or Clucas comes in. 2-0 to us for me.

I'd start resting a few of them now the games don't really matter. Give Dawson, Robertson, Livermore, Clucas, Diame and Hernandez plenty of rest in the next couple of weeks ahead of the playoffs. I'd definitely give Tymon a game in one or both of the last 2. Especially if we win tonight.

Need to be careful resting players, at times it feels like most of our injuries occur on non-match days. Plus, a couple of weeks away in international duty, seems to take time to recover from, even if they don't get a game.

I guess it's that balance between match fitness and squad stability, and resting players and trying something fresh.

temptation must be to rest a few, but on the other hand it would be good to win the last few games and score a few goals and go into the play offs on a winning run .
enough doom and gloom about at the moment without limping into the playoffs on the back of three 0-0 draws.
