http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/04/2...when-asked-the-exact-date-when-his-leeds-un/? I personally have come to the conclusion that Evans won't be here next season, Your thoughts anyone.
Evans' presence assures neither promotion nor relegation. Performance has been satisfactory and insufficient at key moments in season. Analysis indicates that loan and transfers have been favourable. Digression: further evidence required to form valid conclusion. Assessment: positive improvements made but consistency key. Only time will demonstrate Evans' value.
I'm not a fan of what comes out of his mouth but I think he's done a decent job in trying circumstances. His stock has probably risen, there are 'interested parties' and his relationship with Cellino has become... err... distant. So, imho, no he won't be here next season.
I think if you asked the majority if they would like him to be here next season......the answer would be yes. Then if you asked the majority do they think he will be here next season.....then the answer would be no. We must be a fair minded bunch of supporters because most of the people who want him here next season go on to say they don't really like him. I have warmed to him and it's quite possible that he could be a very good up and coming manager. He has said he is learning from his mistakes and I admire that he is also trying to get into better physical shape losing all that weight as well. I get the feeling after watching a few interviews that he commands respect and is fair and that the players like playing for him. We could do a hell of a lot worse and Cellino may be shooting himself in the foot if he doesn't give keeping Evans on some serious consideration.
No he won't be here next season, he is becoming more popular amongst the supporters and are becoming more positive about what he's doing with the team. That will never sit well with Cellino.
Perfect three comments above mine.. No he won't be here next season because of the exact reasons mentioned above.
I have to disagree with that LoL, I don't believe Cellino sacks managers cos they're becoming popular with fans, what's point in bringing a manager in if that was the case. If a manager get's us promoted he's going to become popular amongst most Leeds fans, will Cellino then sack him cos of that reason alone.......I personally don't think so. Getting Leeds promoted is one thing, and the fans will warm to him, but Leeds fans being Leeds fans, if we come straight back down again the same manager won't be so popular.
Liked ya post Johhny, and agree with most of it but, do you think, as with all managers, love or loathe a manager, do you think the most important thing is, is the current manager (any manager) the right person to take us up and/or, keep us competitive in PL?
The manager who takes us up and the one managing us in the PL will likely be two very different animals. Lots of managers cant make the step up and I suspect Evans would be one of them. Would like to see him get a crack at a summer strengthening the squad and a full season giving it a go and get first part of the job done. We can worry about survival if or when we ever get there
Forest Green have made the difficult decision to part company with manager Ady Pennock after 7 games without a win.
He wants promotion, so Evans will be here at the start of next season & will be given a few quid to spend
Brave prediction. Mine is: Even if we win every game until the end of the season 6-0 Evans does not get a new contract. Rationale: Cellinos ego won't let a coach have huge influence over his club, and he sacks them when he sees his own importance threatened. If Evans is still here on the first of August I will have been wrong!
Miss my point a bit there LL. Cellino wants promotion but he wants the fans to solely think it's down to him. That's why we have the 'head coach' thing. He wants people to think of him as the 'manager' that scouts and secures the players on behalf of his coach. I think Evans won't be here, the pattern is repeating in the same way as Redfearn. All was fine till he bigged up 'his' youngsters for the improvement, insults started and he was soon gone. Cellino has already bawled Evans out for talking too much about next season when Evans started talking about adding 'quality players'. Only way too keep the job is to be good and to massage the ego of the owner
Forking hell I had forgotten and out that one... Just checked and 1st July is cut off date. If Jose is at scum by then I won't care about losing on Evans.... Forgot about that one too...
