THISTLECRACK, one of the stars of the 2015-16 jumps season, has been ruled out of a trip across the Irish Sea for the Punchestown festival after being found to be lame.

The brilliant World Hurdle winner, who was on Saturday voted Jumps Horse of the Year, had been pencilled in to attempt to complete a Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown treble.

Irish racegoers will have to wait a little longer to see the Colin Tizzard-trained eight-year-old, however, after that plan was shelved on Saturday.

    More to follow . . .

That's ashame hopefully it's just a minor problem and we'll see him at his best next year.

The Tizzards may aswell just stay at home now, will save themselves a lot in travelling expenses if they do:biggrin:

He's beating Vautour if so. Declared for 2m race.

(Beefy's Conclusion: He's NEVER running in a Gold Cup).

What a week of sport this is - the battle for the premier league, Punchestown, Champions League semis, Guineas meeting at Newmarket, world snooker championship.

With the big horse out of the Gold Cup Vautour's decision looking even worse UNLESS they go for the old switcheroo, not impossible!

December 16th 2015 was my last day at work, still in rehab with my hand/arm after the bike accident. Probably June at the earliest before I'm back to work, so Bank Holidays have little relevance. (Might have to try and stretch things to cover the European Championships though - nurse, I'm relapsing <laugh>)

You my man are a legend <ok>

Seriously though big companies can screw staff nowadays in so many ways, its good to hear the employee getting a dam nice run of it from them.

Must get myself a bike <laugh>

Seems the injury could be a career ender. Shame for Elliott if that's the case. This after No More Heroes lost his life in March. Two mighty fine chasers he has possibly lost to do battle with Mullins throughout the winter :(
