That win was lost before we conceded the first goal. Notice how after our second Newcastle started playing it long. All of our midfielder decided the best way to counter that was to play long ourselves. Instead of running through the middle and passing to feet, we started launching it, knocking headers back and forth, etc.
Some glaring errors by the same old suspects for the Newcastle goals today. Toure, Moreno, Mignolet etc. Simply not good enough.
Not sure how Firmino being pushed in the box on 86mins results in Newcastle getting a freekick Ah well. Not good enough despite having a comfortable lead at half time. Too sloppy at the back. Toure better not be starting too many more.
That keeper is one ****. A total, utter ****. He couldn't command a cornflake box, let alone his six-yard box. I don't mean to scapegoat, as it should have been irrelevant anyway because we could have scored six, but I think Sakho should give him his gear. And Stewart if ****ing gash too. And that useless turd we brought on at the end that looks like Coutinho.
Total waste of 2 points. our defence was a shambles and Sakho (the ****) will be missed. 2 shots 2 goals. Mignolet is simply not good enough.
There have been 35 league games, so why are the media giving Newcastle credit for a (IMO strongly ref-assisted) decent 2ND HALF performance? Newcastle can **** off and I won't have any sympathy for their fans until they make a proper effort to get their owner out
Jokes aside I found the Rafa love in a bit cringeworthy to be honest. His stock has risen so much since he left that its getting a bit ridiculous. If he were a Paisley or Shankly I'd support the gesture, but he's not and never was. Its a bit of a distraction to the team. Applaud the guy as he comes in, and that's it. We've a better manager now, we are supposed to be loud and cheering the team on to beat everyone. It was just a bit subdued today and I feel the Rafa obsession didn't help.
Bright side: maybe good to have some #perspective before Villarreal after the Dortmund and Everton games
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "No, I'm not angry. It doesn't feel like we won a point. It feels like we have lost it. It's not our best day. "It was an intensive game. Newcastle had two shots and two goals. We had a few more shots and could have scored more goals but didn't and have to take what we can get."
Looked like there was some tired legs out there with 3 games in a week.........rest up guys, it's all about Thursday evening
