The incredible thing about that team - and I believe this is a first - is the amount it cost to assemble overall. It is ludicrous to think that the most expensive player by a country mile is the goalkeeper!

    De Gea - £18m
    Bellerin - £375k
    Alderweireld - £12m
    Morgan - £1m
    Rose - £750k
    Kante - £6.75m
    Alli - £5m
    Mahrez - £400k
    Payet - £11m
    Kane - free
    Vardy - £1m

That entire team cost the same as Fernando Torres. Incredible.

It's a crazy year though to be fair.

Our entire squad cost half of that.

Me too. It is funny though <laugh>

Shame Gomes didn't have his West Brom game ahead of the votes closing. Think he could've been selected as gk, he's been every bit as good as De Gea.

The vote was likely split due to people still wrongly spelling his name "Gomez"

I wonder how many people had to Google Alderweireld before casting their vote.

Good to see Dawson get some recognition and shows what a true pro he is. While I'm rooting for Brighton to go up it's a shame for Dawson that Hull have trailed off so badly this season.

They can still both go up. Don't Brighton play Boro in the last game - winner takes all. Leaving Hull (with Jake, Tommy and Daws) to go up via play-offs.

    :emoticon-0132-envy:
It is tight at the top now. I think it is two from M'Boro, Burnley and Brighton with Burnley hitting a run of draws in some tough games that has seen them been reeled in. Boro I think are favourites as they have been pretty consistent throughout the season and Brighton have hit form at just the right time after their mid-season slump. Just too many teams for Hull too overtake so will be the play-off lottery for them.

NB: I can't remember who the resident Sutton Utd supporter is here but big win for them last week seeing them hit top spot with 2(?) games to go. My old man is desperate to see them go up as is a life-long supporter (I still can't believe we both missed out on seeing them beat Coventry in the FA Cup! :emoticon-0132-envy:). Eastbourne Boro holding on for dear life down the bottom though.

I think we have blown it! Losing Dack & Egan (our 2 representatives in the PFA league 1 team) for about 6 matches has killed us, and unfortunately I expect they will both be playing championship football next season.

But if you had offered me top 6 in April when the season started I would have bitten your hand off! Lets see if Justin can see them over the line

Yeah where is Tots? Anyone keep in contact with him outside of the forum?

Same for Boss, he came back for a period earlier in the season then vanished again.
