Who is going to issue that call? I asked if the Trust were having a meeting. I was told they would be issuing a questionnaire and to wait until the scheme was issued. A small minority think getting rid of the concessions is a good idea but more have indicated they will be buying their membership. We need to organise the opposition that is there to ensure it includes all City supporters, young old, members and non-members.
Barely anyone thinks scrapping concessions is a good idea, it might have been acceptable if the prices were so low that nobody cared, but that's obviously not where we are (or where we were ever likely to end up). The scheme has now been launched, the HCST survey has been done (still open if anyone still wants to have their say) and I'm sure the Trust will be stating their position shortly.
To be fair I can see why a questionnaire was issued to gauge Trust members views, and actually I can see why that waited until it was announced, but now there is precious little time for any type of action Only 11 days now people have to decide whether to sign up for their existing seat By the way do you remember a time when even before Christmas they announced what match ticket prices for the next season would be and what season tickets would cost at the same time so you could weigh up what you were going to do months before the season started?..............different times!
That's a good point. It's quite a threat to have to be able to hold over the club, and relatively easy to organise.
very true boycotting matches is always annoying as you've already paid for your seat, but a mass cancellation of direct debits would be a strong card to hold Unity is strength Brothers
Rang the membership hotline! Took ages to answer, gave my details currently in W5. Unable to tell me how much it will cost! They say the club will contact me with a price. Have a feeling they are looking at W5 and W6 on an individual basis.
I'm in W5 too. Unless the concessions are re-introduced, or the family guarantee extended to the rest of the ground, I will not be renewing
Just been for tickets from club shop for Bolton game. Bloke who sits in the west stand said he has supported city for 48 seasons and takes 2 grandkids. The club want 800 quid more off him for next season and no way is he renewing. The Allams are a pair of idiots ( well done the trust also for that vote result so far )
If you enter into a contract, with a view of cancelling it. You leave yourself liable to costs and the person who orchestrates that form of protest leaves themselves liable for significant costs, if judgement went against them. You can cancel the agreement an off site contract within 14 days of signing without any issue or reason. My point is that if you use this as a form of protest the club could demonstrate that you are liable for costs as you did not intend to honour the contract. A mass action might impact on supporters who have a genuine reason for cancelling and this would not be fair.
But nobody would be entering with a view to cancelling it. Most would hope that there would be no reason to. It's only if the club do something that folk object to, which would be an argument to support a change in the initial agreement.
a football club suing its fans - and with Allam in charge no-one would be surprised because no-one tells him how to run his business - its a bloody football club with fans paying to support the team and watch them play, only a ****ing moron would make it into a legally binding agreement with penalties if you don't keep paying even though you've stopped going - this is not the future it's a farce
Heard at the game on Friday that they were going to reduce the original prices quoted for W5 and W6. Will be interesting to see what figure they comeback with. I will walk away if the price is unreasonable as will many others.
It is a simple fact that we will all cancel the contract at some time in the future. The membership scheme allows us to leave provided we give the required notice. Like I said it gives any supporters' organisation an enormous amount of financial clout if they can organise it.
If everyone refused and we're just happy to pay on the day they'd have to have a rethink about prices! The only people who are happy are the ones who are gonna be paying less! I don't mind paying the full price but the oaps & kids shouldn't be paying the same! How can you expect someone to earn their stripes when you've got people who f'ked us off last year because we went down getting a better deal this year?
HDM are running a 'letters special' feature on the membership scheme, send your letters to - [email protected]
no one would have any intention of doing so. However people may decide to if something poor happened. I can't see how they could apply for costs as they have told you exactly how long the notice you need to give them is so they are obviously happy some might Moot point anyway as I'm not suggesting it would be organised by a group, all I am saying is that the club realising that if they pissed people off in the middle of a season they could all simply cancel and stop paying might mean that the views of supporters might be held in higher regard. (although doubtful) If the views weren't and some decided to cancel in "protest" that would be fine as far as I can see (although they may not allow you to rejoin of course)
