Good player but I doubt we're in a position to pay the fee he'd command, especially with Washington kicking his heels on the bench.
can't we give Washington a chance? agreed Wells would be a good buy but sure he turned us down previously
Agree with you factamondo - said as much myself on this very forum not so long ago! (Before Alan Judge broke his leg....)
Agree my ol mucker, he would be my ding and my dong. Maybe smithies could have a word in tempting him !
conor washington is a terrible mistake we maybe able to get 500 thousand back but we are two millioon down on a player who only good in the bottom tables hes not good enough for the top two divisions
Not sure anyone gets it anymore on here. So we buy again new names grabbed because they score the odd goal and this level. We have a great season 16/17 and win promotion Exactly what do you do then? Because IMO QPR would then need to buy a complete new squad bar a few The only way IMO to build a side is actively look across the sea into France,Holland and Germany for bargains and take some risks I watched Kante yesterday and he has to be the best player in the premiership this season and used to play for Caen. Every year for the last 20 years France has given the Premiership its best players IMO so Get off your arse SLF and watch a few games in France. The club has come out with a statement about a long term vision at QPR I can assure that TF will have to change again if we experience any success next year … look what the idiot did this season by changing the targets half way through the season because we had Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips then changed it back again Nacki Wells hit the scene in 2011 and was instantly looked at by all the premiership clubs as most new talent is … the proof is there to suggest that he has no takers in 6 years and now plays for the Terriers and has settled at his level. I would be looking abroad or getting in loan deals now from Premiership second squads … I am certain you can build a great side from this combo of loans and gamble signings from France. It's corporate TIT time IMO and it may take the close season for many of our fans to see what a crap year this has been in terms of the people running the club All in all we have done really well to secure a place in the championship but if we what to climb again then we can't have our chairman coming out and saying he nows wants us to do a Leicester story just because of their success … it's completely stupid IMO to start thinking about player like Wells. We have waste a brilliant chance to push the club forward and it's been cocked up completely. JFH has to be given his chance now and the pressure is on him to build his side I am certain it won't include Nakki Wells and nor should it I am hoping we sign more French , Dutch and Germans all of which none of us will know anything about … Washington looks a good buy IMO and could come good
A lot of fair points made, I agree that we should persevere with Washington. There's no reason why he can't bag 15+ goals in this division next season, certainly has the ability. I think other positions are our priority. Such as CB, a winger, and certainly a dynamic CM who wins us possession quickly.
Agree with this...we have made a good start. Smithies, Ingrams, Hall, Robinson, Chery, Luongo,ElK, BFG and I hope Washington...all look good. I agree with EscapeGoat...we need a RB (not seen enough of our own to know if we have anyone) a CB, a good DM....and a good on the field captain....that would be the only "name" player I would buy....but who? He would need to be good enough to hold his place and a real driver on the field (Barton-like) Is Dawson good enough? Who else can anyone suggest?
