I don't think they'll charge it if we don't go up, but at the moment the brochure says that they may do. I do think they'll charge it if we go up. No one knows really as they have just left the option open for them to do it or not do it. If we do go up and they still decide not to charge it will be marketed as a great magnanimous gesture! I imagine that for now it's there as a threat to encourage people who are allowed to sign up beforehand They might put a fee in after the first year to stop people cancelling and re-signing but to be honest most people will care more about keeping the seats they have (if they are happy with them) than messing about cancelling and re joining.
I'm just stating what they told us, if people don't believe me, or don't believe they will honour it, then that's entirely up to them.
Is that the same meeting that mentioned the £50 that now isn't? Above all else, the brochure says that there's no charge for membership for those that apply before the 9th of June. Why include that, if there's no charge after it? If the answer is to get people to rush to join, but they've never intended to charge at all 1, it's dishonest and misleading, 2, there are far better ways of encouraging sales for next season, but they don't tend to include signing fans freedoms away to a half arsed membership scheme. I think the probability is that 9th of June date will become meaningless, but if it was always going to be, then they've wasted time righting rules to include it.
Not only would that be dishonest and misleading, but it's exactly the same thing for which they've just been slapped on the wrist by trading standards after fans pulled them up on it last year.
The club received a black mark from trading standards after last seasons farce when season ticket prices Never went up after the stated date. They have to be absolutely clear the date if and when a fee is payable for next season
I believe you I'm less sure that I believe they will honour what they told you I'm absolutely certain that they have mentioned a charge in the pamphlet so that they can charge if they think it makes 'business' sense. Otherwise they wouldn't have made sure it was clearly stated as a possibility
I think they've solved that by merely saying that they 'may' apply a charge They can go either way then and still be 'honest'
Nope They've only said there 'may' be a charge My guess is no charge in CShip. A charge for PL if they think they can get away with it
Anyone having read the propaganda information leaflet - understand if you have to or can 'join' if you are only planning on attending on a match by match basis? & can someone suggest (obviously not tell them) children should be able to join for free at any point ... to be fair just scrap this scheme
I think you're wrong, the league won't make a blind bit of difference to the non-existent membership charge in the launch season.
For match tickets you'll get a membership card rather than a ticket, there's no fee for joining or for the card, you just get any game you want loaded on it.
Great idea but i'd like to see a letter of apology to all the current season pass holders and a further discount to everyone they extorted money from this season
But didn't they also say (when they took over) that they intended to reduce match day prices to £5 or £10?
You're probably right, but they've certainly left their options open, and it's certainly not non-existent yet (although I realise that's only what you believe to be the case) because the latest the club has said about the matter, publicly, is that there 'may' be a membership charge after 9th June
