Well Davies made a splendid captain til Bruce slung him on the naughty step and stripped him of the role. He's gone all quiet since.
Against the grain apparently but... Jake - for me the only one who dealt with their physicality and made them hurry up on the ball Curtis - some important tackles Snodders - for the free kick Special mention for Akpom who I thought put more effort in for his 15 mins or so than half of the others all match
Davies is the only one who looks capable of bawling out this shambolic lot- given previous history he also seems to rise to the occasion with the responsibility- any better ideas? Bruce, given what Bruce is there to do, was average...didn't make any major cock-ups, tightened it up 2nd half alongside Davies. Given the rest of them are there to show composure on the ball, create, drive forward, pass to a bloke wearing the same coloured shirt, they were shambolic in comparison
Snodgrass - apart from the goal he added some much needed urgency when he came on (should have been on much earlier) Davies Livermore Good to see Diomande given a chance and he looked OK.
Livermore Hernandez Snodgrass for the goal. ... Elmo played as though he wanted Wolves to win. Interesting to hear in the Bruce after match interview that the players had a meeting this week. Because for me a telling point was during the first half when Onion Bargee was fouled and a Wolves player not involved in the foul marched over and shoved Onion Bargee in the chest like a school bully. Not one of our players stepped forward or looked remotely bothered. I wanted to see an Ian Ashbee or Nicky Barmby type reaction where the players stick up for each other.
I think Moses was still suffering from that horror tackle in the 1st half - their bloke should have had a red card but that was just 1 of many things the ref missed tonight
Livermore Davies Snodgrass special mention for Robertson and Akpom - along with the 3 above at least they played as if they wanted to win the game
Elmo got some verbal from E5/E6 area from two or three punters, exasperated at his indifference, lack of apparent desire and 'couldn't give a **** attitude'. He gave them a mouthful back, a stare and a 'shush' gesture. Shame he couldn't do it by silencing his critics by getting stuck in, playing a blinder and showing the manager what a mistake he made by omitting him. Amazed to see him come and nonchalantly milk the applause at the end. Wonder if owt was said to him by the other players at their 'meeting' this week, such as "Pull your finger out, ffs, you sulky ****."
