He would be the best man we could possibly sign for the left side, he is a cracking winger.

I think he came across as 'not supporting either' as such, but said he used to love watching the Newcastle teams with Ginola etc, and to be fair, so would we have if they weren't our rivals.

That team used to upset me greatly. We had Gareth Hall, they had Beardsley, Shearer, Ferdinand Ginola.

    Grrr.

Is Johnson a left or right winger? Wikipedia has him down as a left footed right winger??

But he's linked to Chelsea too!

Sunderland born Adam Johnson, is rumoured to be on his way out of Man City as apparently Mr Mancini doesn’t want him.

It was well know that Sunderland were chasing the winger before he signed for City. We almost got him too according to Chairman Sir Niall Quinn only for City to come in with a “silly money” deal at the last minute.

Now if rumours are true Johnson is on his way to another club, with reports that Sunderland could provide a loan deal, where as Chelsea want him on a permanent deal and offer Champions League football.

Could be Bruce has an iron in the fire here and its the season he let the Frenchman go?he has said quite openly he is looking for good value in the loan market.

A loan of Johnson and maybe a loan of someone like Defoe (a good replacement for Campbell till he is fit) would be a smart move.

Both! He can play on the left very effectively but started out on the right as Downing was top dog at Villa.

Agreed. I thought he was a bit of a first team regular there.

This would surprise me if there was any chance of this

Each time i seen AJ playing for City he was very, very good. I don't know why he doesn't play more games for them. I think he's a terrific talent. I'd have no more worries about Sunderland if we could by some miracle land AJ.

I agree it would be a great signing for us.

It does make you wonder about why sometimes young players choose to go to one of the "big" clubs when it seems obvious to the rest of the world that they are not going to play, or not play regularly at least.

I always think of the Shaun Wright Phillips to Chelsea situation, the lad wasted his career due to this decision in my opinion. I have the same doubts about if Jordan can make it at Liverpool, or indeed wether Adam Johnson will at City?

He said he watched them not supported parker - he Supported SAFC but watched the likes of Ginola and players like that. Besides I'd rather have johnson than Bale - Much more consistent (I only saw bale do it a handful of times - after he got "found out" even our side marked him off the pitch and stopped him getting involved in the game.

Edit: Talc - He's very left footed but Mancini likes him cutting inside - personally I'd rather have him hitting the by-line and crossing the ball into the centre from the left. Call me old fashioned but I like left footed players on the left wing
