everyone see the 2.5mil west ham pay for the new stadium per year. whoever signed that deal wants shooting. 2.5 mil for 25 games max... with a small increase if they play more which i suppose covers cups and europe if that happens for them lets think on that. they are gaining 25,000 seats in this approx. so thats west ham paying 2.5mil rent to get 25,000x 25x 40 pounds (they offer a lot less to get them in right now) thats 2.5million to get 25million in revenue.. 10x return.. and thats BEFORE concessions etc.. yes there are more costs too. Whoever negotiated that deal must have been corrupt.
welllll when its in theory tax payers money that paid for that stadium (i doubt Olympics ever paid it back and that money vanished down a greedy corporate gullet) I would say a 99 year lease on a ground for what amounts to peanuts even if westham were relegated is mad.
Its not just the amount of rent they pay, they only paid 15m of Theo 150m to convert it into a football stadium! Massive freebie handed to them. Would have been much better if they'd have gone down this year and got crowds of 30k making whole thing look ridiculous.
That is very ture. the tiny amount put in for redevelopment comapred to taxpayers money sunk in again when they get 70 mil this year from tv is really scandalous.
