My 2000 Guineas fancy Brave Hero runs in the 200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Trophy over 1m 2f so that is probably the end of any aspirations for the first colts classic. Should go well in this though and 11/4 not a bad looking price.
Fancy Longhouse Hall in 4.10 at Cheltenham.Had a decent Ew wedge on this lad last month in the Coral Cup and he ran a cracker behind Diamond King to come second.Pulled out of Aintree due to ground concerns so should be spot on for this tomo. Was able to knick 5s earlier and it looks like the dough is down as he is into 7/2 with some firms.Fingers crossed we will get a good run for our money!
Punter-friendly results on the second day at Newmarket but will the weather allow further drying out of the ground for Thursday? Looking at the two maiden races that start the card at HQ, Blueblood of the Day could be quite a conundrum for Princess. In the Tattersalls Millions, it is hard to summon up any enthusiasm for Landofhopeandglory at the available prices as a few of O’Brien’s have been getting turned over in the last week or so. It would be no surprise if one of the unexposed rivals from British yards improved enough to keep the money at home. There are two or three in the Abernant Stakes that owe me money from last year but I cannot find any reason why I would chance their race fitness chasing old losses when Magical Memory is the clear form pick, if fit. Prominent in both the 2000 Guineas and Derby betting, Foundation needs to atone for his lacklustre showing in the Racing Post Trophy if he is to be a viable candidate for the former as the latter will probably be his real destination. Just five take him on and it is hard to see Shogun as anything other than a yardstick, in the race to give Ballydoyle an idea how well the race runs. Stormy Atlantic is probably the biggest danger but his second at Saint Cloud was in bottomless ground and it was soft when he won at Newbury. Godolphin’s Very Talented would have to live up to his name to get in the shake-up as his facile maiden win was at the third attempt in a moderate race.
Carrying out a little experiment. Have examined the opening shows tonight for Thursdays races and found the few horses where the odds have dropped quickly in the first few hours. Now this could be bookies creating false moves or it could be stable money or anything. Happy to take a chance it may be a positive sign though...... 2pm Ripon. SEMINOLE DREAM 33s into 20s. Big each way bet. 3.25 Limerick. COURT CHALLENGE 7s into 5-1. Big win bet. 3.35 Cheltenham. WARDEN HILL 6-1 into 9-2. Big win bet.
Well today is my birthday one year away from the big 30!! the no betting flag is being waved today! Good luck to all that do
I think you mean luckless QM. He was denied a clear run and wasn't knocked about. Should win this no trouble.
Morning all had mixed day yesterday. The word on the street from the county set, a couple of local winners, kilronan high and theatre goer. Cheers
Seems that Zumran is being well backed. May be something to do with "The well-related ZUMRAN represents the Hugo Palmer team that has started the season in fine form, and he reports this filly to be a sharp type with plenty of speed". Could be she's been going well against his early winners?
Happy Birthday Wooly, Not much taken my fancy today but will have a bet on Bournemouth Belle Chelmsford 7:40 @ 7/2. Haven't got a clue if it has a chance but will have a bet because of the name
