Are you suggesting he's a worse defender than Yedlin and Jones? I know his defending isn't his strong point, he's a converted Midfielder after all(sure I read once he was a deep lying playmaker) , but to suggest he can't defend better than our two planks is ridiculous. Better then then both going forward and better than them both defensively.

Seb Larsson is likely to leave the Stadium of Light if Sunderland are relegated to the Championship, claims the midfielder’s agent.

Reigning Player of the Year Larsson has featured in just one of Sunderland’s last six games after recovering from a knee injury, with the Swedish international again an unused substitute in yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester.

It has been a frustrating season for the 30-year-old, who was overlooked by Dick Advocaat at the start of the campaign and then was sidelined for three months after regaining his place under Sam Allardyce.

Larsson will only have a year left on his Sunderland contract this summer and his agent, Per Jonsson, has suggested in the Swedish media that the Black Cats could look to cash-in on the ex-Arsenal man if they are relegated.

“If they go down, then it becomes a different situation. It is crystal clear” said Jonsson.

“He has one year left on his contract which expires in the summer of 2017.

“Sunderland can see the big picture with their finances if they go down.

“It is clear that there will be a queue of clubs interested in him

I've barely seen a worse defensive fullback mate. I've not seen too many of your games to can't comment on Yedlin (although I did always think Jones was a solid if unspectacular defender?) but if your problem has been full backs not knowing how to defend then Debuchy will do nothing for you. He's a good player and I liked him at Newcastle, but Janmaat is better than him defensively and that says everything.

That one sentence tells me you don't know how bad our rightbacks actually are mate, he's not solid, he can't defend full stop. He can't attack, he can't pass either, he offers nothing but a bit off activity for our physio team. Yedlin is learning his trade in the hope of becoming a Premier League fullback. That is not going to happen anytime soon, barely Championship. In fact, MLS is about his limit at the moment.

I'd keep Catts and bench Mvilla for Seb.

Since the turn of the year Mvilla just hasn't done it. Bench him for a couple of games and it might just make him think that he has to offer more and return to the beast he was earlier in the season and see us over the line.

I still think we should have given Rev a 12 month contract he impressed me while he was here.

He had the choice between Brown/Rev and chose Brown.

Brown has played 6 times this season in the league. I'd guess Rev would have played a lot more than that.

He could defend much better than those two. He didn't find another club, he retired.

He deserved better imo, very tidy player, composed on the ball and made very few mistakes. Amazed he retired, a bit like Gatesy I thought he still had a couple of seasons in him when he retired. Of course it is a personal choice and maybe they had other options who knows.
