Yeah, although I've just thought: how does the 50% thing work? Was this discussed in the pre-thread? Is it votes on half the people the mayor sees? Or does he choose half the people's votes to see? Or does he get given half the people randomly? The Mafia might just risk voting for the same person in the hope there votes don't get seen and make sure the target they want swings each time? Going to read the OP again and see if it is clearer.
Right now a say nothing and let it happen feels like a losing strategy to me. All 5 bad guys can now hide easily and take guys out. It will be 13 v 5 then down to 10v5 tomorrow if a lynch hoes this way again.
Good point re no Mafia action. Did we get it right and positive result is that Mafia action doesn't happen?
I'm always of the opinion that the more we are able to get everyone talking the more we can try to figure out from what they say and what they don't say. And also more chance they will slip up. I'd encourage discussion about everything we can. That doesn't mean coming to a town consensus and giving the Mafia the advantage. But discussing everything we have to discuss is a good way of drawing people out.
Agree we have to talk about directions. Throw in all thoughts and then leave it to individuals to vote. Thought would be more comments on options like today on new options as then could try and discuss logic of options. This time just looks like a flip the coin choice.
Can I also recommend the number trick as well? Journalist picks a pattern, be it say, years in which Liverpool had a striker from Burkina Faso or whatever. At least five or six numbers. Then - you post one number at the bottom of your article. Don't make it something obvious, don't make it something unverifiable. When the paper is hacked, the mafia will be unable to follow your pattern. They'll add a random number or come up with a pretend "pattern" using your numbers. The next night, you can say "last night's paper was hacked. The proof is that the number of the article doesn't match this pattern" - which you then reveal. That way we know which paper was incorrect. If the hackers claim a legitimate article was hacked, you can regain control the next night and refute it. Which minimizes the time required for town to figure out which paper was hacked.
I voted for DPP first and I thought two others voted for him too after that, unless you changed yours Mito after I confirmed that I was on him? So that fits with the theory that tobes had at least 4 votes, unless he lost a coinflip?
Don't think its bottling it at all. This is pretty much what you were suggesting yesterday, discuss the locations in general but don't dictate a particular choice or say where you are going, let the other VT's choose for themselves. I was just saying that in light of yesterday's neutral result and the lack of info about which one was actually good or bad, i'm at a complete loss so won't be saying too much about directions today as I have no clue. As I said, once we have a definitive good or bad result then we will know more about IBWT's logic, and then we can get more involved. Hopefully that happens tonight... So if I think I can work it out tomorrow I'll be discussing the locations, but for a day like today where I'm rather clueless I'm not going to stick my neck out and get lynched for making a bad call. Happy to take that risk if I think I can logically figure it out though...
I'm in a 6 hour meeting today so will only be online properly late this afternoon. Going to read back and see who could have targeted Brb and why, I can't recall anyone that he called out but I may have just missed it. Does anyone have history with Brb? Inactive SK is another theory that I'll keep in mind, depends what happens tonight as well though. I'm struggling to believe that both the mafia and SK could have targeted Tobes as he was clearly in the lynch frame, would be a silly choice. SK could have targeted Brb but also unlikely in my opinion as I don't think brb caused major waves, but again I have to read through. For the mafia I am leaning towards the other options for no action last night.
Chaos voted for me as I killed him last game and always tie him in knots. So not team bias, but hardly a game play reason which was his point.
