Harry M Has more fight in him then most of the team when he plays. For that reason alone i would keep him in the team
Totally this. At the end of season when limbs are tired and frustrations surface, a team needs players that galvanise and lead by example. It's as much about players with willpower and attitude as it is about tactics and formations. Maguire is just such a player. Diame is not just such a player, incidentally.
The more matches he plays consecutively the better he gets, the trouble is Bruce will put him in for one match and he's not up to speed so you get the, not quick enough comments and your comment which is fair enough, but as he plays more his class really tells and he overcomes things better. A defender like him who can provide an attacking threat and roust the team from the back is really worth his weight in gold, it's amazing to me that someone who has obviously watched football for a number of years like Waggy cannot see this..Al Rawdah and City Filey sum up what I think.
Didn`t everyone say Morgan at Leicester was too slow to play in the Premier League, seems that turned out alright then !
Perfect example really. The likes of Waggy are missing the point completely, Harry probably needs 2 or 3 games to get up to speed then he really comes into his own. We've seen it happen already this season FFS
Well, being crap, I rarely comment on Match Day threads but this is exactly right. I was pleased to see us lining up for 352 but the wing backs were all wing and no back and although we had most of the possession in the first 15-20 minutes, I felt we looked exposed and said to anyone willing to listen (exactly no-one) that Huddersfield the more likely to score first. But what do I know? I didn't think Diame was that bad (i.e. not as lazy as he sometimes appears) and although Huddlestone was a significant presence (he reminds me of Beckenbauer a bit), his distribution was often very poor (which doesn't remind me of Beckenbauer at all). On the positive side, the pubs and the curry afterwards were excellent and, to refute the received wisdom on this board, the outspoken moaners around me in the crowd were not in any way old. I made a deliberate study of this and some of them were nippers, barely in their forties. In the interests of balance I should add that the (older) bloke stood next to me had one hell of a thermos with him.
It was funny I was stood up from the start, and the stewards brought on old guy to sit in a spare seat behind me. He then start complaining that he couldn't see as I was stood up, I told him I was here first, but he still went on moaning so I moved.
Nope. Even before Dawson was ruled out for a few weeks Harry did more than enough to cement his place. Now Dawson is out I expect both Davies and Maguire to start ALL the remaining games(injury/suspension permitting that is).
