Ok I've plucked up the courage to ask. What weird ping pong games have you be involved in. Busy stuffing myself with bacon muffins so I had to wait before I asked.
****ing hell mate - that's my stamping ground. Do you know Joe Cooke that had the Royal? He used to run dogs at Murray Park & Pelaw.
Too true. One of the last "Blood and Guts" sports. American Grid Iron players were here on a promotional tour and went to see one of the Aussie Rules games and all declared that they couldn't understand how the game could be played without protective gear. (Mouth-guards are about all they use). It has been unjustly described as "Aerial Ping Pong" or "All in Wrestling with a Rugby Ball thrown in"! It is (and always will be) the Number One sport here in Oz. The AFL own the stadiums and did state that when Australia put in a bid for the Soccer World Cup that they would NOT move their games or start the season later to accommodate the World Cup fixtures. They can't stand 'Soccer' (they refer to it as "The Girls Game" or "A Game for Wogs and ****ters") and this would make it almost impossible for Australia to hold the World Cup although some Government intervention was talked about last time. Here are some incidents that happen every week - WARNING this is not for the squeamish. This is a mans game.
Don't know him billy, must be 15 years or more when I was at Murray park had some great nights there. I'm up at Stanley a few times a year at the Argos factory get some good bargains there.
Broomball: played on hockey ice , with sneakers on with suction sort of cups on the bottom . Brooms used like hockey sticks with a 8 inch or so rubber ball instead of a puck . Full contact. , fights ....great game .
