Have been a few rumours regarding Wolves players,not sure anyone was sure of who though, finally a defender, one whom I think we all would have liked to sign when he was at Leicester. If it is true, Stearman and one other quality defender needed I think at the back. Despite Edwards' defensive liabilities at times, I think if we had to very decent centre backs then we would manage, having two attacking full-backs could turn us into a very attacking team.
That would be another great signing. I wonder then whether there was any truth in this Ebanks-Blake rumour too..
I can't see this happening I'm afraid. Played a lot for Wolves last season, would be a squad player for them. Also a midland lad, would probably prefer a move to another midland side. Would like him though...!
I mentioned Stearman on an earlier thread, simply just picking him as a likely target not through any genuine def info. Be great if it does happen, however it could just be that some lazy Mirror journo gets his transfer stories from internet boards.
True, the only paper that seems to have good sources at the club are the Sunday People. I remember them picking up the JET and Bowyer deals before anyone else. The Mirror tends to be hit and miss and with the figure being quoted as £1m Wolves would be mugged at that price, however if PJ somehow manages to pull it off it will put Sven's £5m for Matt Mills into perspective.
Stearman is crap and very over rated, plus he has a big player ego on top of that. He was brilliant for us when he first broke through but once he became established he got an attitude and his performances dropped. You would be better staying clear of him

There isnt alot of decent centre halfs around at the minute, thats why we had to pay 5.5M to get Matt Mills, there wasnt much else. We used to play Stearman as a right back
would be very happy with this signing if the rumours are true, would happily pay the reported 2mil fee for a player of this quality in the positions we desperately need cover. if we can get him in and maybe a season-long loan for Craig Dawson from wba i would be very happy with our defensive options. just a creative centre mid (koumas?) and possibly another striker/winger, but only if one is available at a good price, no longer a priority
I saw the other day that QPR were set to offer Kasper Gorkks plus money for another player, who's name for the life of me i can't remember. Obviously this means that Qpr are willing to offload Gorkks, would be well worth going after in my opinion, a decent experienced defender!!
I'd be happy with Stearman if PJ thinks his face fit's the bill. I'd still one another defender to give us plenty of cover, and Stearman being able to fill in at Right Back would be useful.
McCarthy says no way, he's not heard anything from Ipswich and wouldn't let him go anyway - and why would he - played plenty last season and good cover at CB and RB - two players for the price of one.
