It's enough time to have an opinion imo. Ben Arfa started playing well right off the bat (didn't really need any time to settle in) so we had a few games to see what he could do. Sess has had 13 which is also ample.

I'd say both players are likely to improve over the next season, but I'm basing this poll on what we've seen and know about the players so far. There's no need to 'definitively say' anything just yet.

Admittedly I haven't seen as much of Sess as I have HBA, but I think judging from the Everton game, and his Ligue 1 highlights he is better. In Sessegnon's games for Sunderland he didn't really have same effect as Ben Arfa did on the game.

Ask again in May 2012! :)

Ive voted SS, based purely on the fact ive seen more of him than Arfa, but reckon both are gonna have massive seasons, and wait for some of the big clubs to make a move on them, price of sucess i'm afraid.

I agree that some big club will eventually come in for both players and that is why it is so important for both clubs to seriously challenge for European football next season.

  11. Ben Arfa has played in the CL and tore into teams. Sessegnon doesn't even look that great.

:) Gotta love the mags! When god was giving out brains you must have thought he said trains and asked for a steam powered slow one.

Ben Arfa was the better player - But we have no idea how good he's going to be when he comes back.

The injury he had was very serious, and even if he regains the technique and fitness levels he had before, his confidence may well be damaged beyond repair.

  14. Not really, his touch was a little bit off pre-season, but his passing and creative play was still immense.

Why is it you say 'the mags' when HMT makes a comment?

He's one bloke. He doesn't represent anyone else.

so much for non Bias maybe this poll should have been closed to NUFC and SAFC supporters as its turned into a my dads bigger than your type thread.

both are the kind of players i love to watch and im sure most will agree with that, At this time i voted for sess who is living up to his hype HBA has had one good game in england and is living off his hype and "rep" (which is a farce in general anyway) so far im sure he will be a quaility player over here but as he's shown only glimpses due to a horrific injurybut right now its sess

Yeah, in one game - Which he got injured in, which will lower his confidence again.
In a full competitive game, he'll have players going for him, cause they know that leg is a weak spot. It may well be that the pressure of all that affects his game.

Hopefully not though, and I don't mean to sound all negative about it, but the truth is we don't really have a good idea of how well he can play anymore.

your feeling is wrong jonny as soon as i seen the poll i thought "we know whats going to happen here", if this was a poll of whos better catts or barton i would of happily voted for barton without a thought for who he plays for as that is my opinion

i also state that BOTH sets of fans should not have been allowed to vote
