Exactly. This is fairly common practice.

Now as a Cardiff fan hearing we have signed a director of operations or youth team coach isnt particularly exciting news as there are plenty of capable candidates and they are easily replaced. I have seen a few posts mentioning that they have been lured by the wages we are offering them which I is a bit strange as we have gone on a big cost cutting exersice losing the likes of Bothroyd & Burke due to not meeting wage demands and selling Chopra because of his high wages. MM is on nowhere near what Dave Jones was and to my knowledge his basic salary is about a third of Dave Jones's but he has a large bonus if promoted which any club would be happy to pay with the riches the Premier league guarantees. It would suggest that if these backroom staff are leaving to accept positions on normal salaries for these types of positions then Watford are paying particularly low salaries to backroom staff which if the case you cant expect anything else to happen if approches are made.

Anyway, all poaching aside I wish Watford the best, you exceeded expectations for the vast majority of last season and hope you do it again this coming year.

Perhaps...but if the backroom staff were so unhappy with their salaries, they could have gone anywhere. The fact seems to be that they've been poached by someone who supposedly cared about our club, when he could have found others elsewhere.

Thanks for the good wishes too, and yes, for the comments. You have to understand, what MM has done has hurt us, but it won't kill us, we'll be fine, and are so lucky that we have SD! :)

Goes to prove the old adage, nowt as fickle,or short-memoried as a football supporter.I can probably go back a lot further with this club than most of you, andI'm telling you that Mr Mackay has been one of the best representatives over his many years there the club has had. I'll thankyou for what youve done in the past Malky.Course none of you in his position would want to take staff with you that you know eh,Cardiff are supposed to be hard up too but can obviously improve on Watfords salaries.

Wot you should be asking is how Cardiff have become a better proposition to join than WFC over the past few years,is the club ever again going to attract more inspiring signings than those of late...and whether Mr Chairman is going to attend a few more matches this season instead of all his doubt-getting-rich -on Radio work !
