QPR welcome struggling Charlton Athletic to W12 in the Sky Bet Championship, as the R’s look to build on Tuesday’s plucky point at Leeds United. Tjaronn Chery’s 87th minute penalty salvaged a share of the spoils for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side at Elland Road, with the Dutchman scoring his tenth goal of the season from the spot. The fixture this weekend, of course, also presents Rangers with the opportunity to exact revenge on the Addicks, after the R’s lost 2-0 at The Valley on the opening day of the season. Much has changed since then, however, including both manager’s in charge, and whilst the R’s sit comfortably in mid-table, Charlton find themselves embroiled in a relegation scrap towards the foot of the table. Despite a creditable 0-0 draw at Ipswich Town in midweek, Jose Riga’s side currently occupy 23rd place in the Championship, lying seven points adrift of safety with just six games to go. Riga admits time is running out for this side, commenting: “We have the drive, will and commitment to fight until the end, until it is mathematically not possible. But we will need to create a miracle.” After making three changes on Tuesday night at Elland Road, Hasselbaink is again likely to shuffle his pack, with Jamie Mackie ruled out owing to the hamstring injury he sustained against the Whites. Sebastian Polter and Chery, who both impressed from the bench, are likely to be recalled to the starting XI. Addicks midfielder Johan Berg Gudmundsson has given Charlton a boost with the news that he will be okay to face Rangers on Saturday. The Icelandic ace had to come off after just 19 minutes at Ipswich Town on Tuesday night, but is set to be passed fit to feature in W12. please log in to view this image Possible Starting Xl's I was toying with the idea of starting Reece Grego-Cox for this game in the hope that Cox could get inside Fanni. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image MATCH ODDS QPR win: 8/13 Draw: 14/5 Charlton Athletic win: 7/2 LAST TIME OUT Charlton Athletic 2, QPR 0 – Championship – Saturday 8th August 2015 Scorer: Charlton Athletic – Watt, Fox HEAD TO HEAD QPR wins: 22 Draws: 21 Charlton Athletic wins: 24 MATCH OFFICIALS Referee: A Madley Assistant Referees: G Muge & W Bull Fourth Official: D Rock please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I really like that lineup Nines. Would love for Robinson to start, and to see if Faurlin and Loungo could get an understanding and play together regularly. Grego-Cox should have been in your lineup though Top work mate, you're our player of the season
The Lord doth indeed move in mysterious ways. Interesting that Churchill seems to have had a hand in it too (although that might have been worded better).
Thanks 9s !! Really hope we see Robinson soon, and Phillips is finally "rested" to give Washington a chance.
Looks as though I'm going be late..bloody A40, dumped car now on tube.......hope that doesn't bode ill
