American football. Aussie rules. Baseball. All motor sport. Golf. Basketball. Anymore that get on your tits?
I like some motorsport, mainly WRC/national rally type events, gone off F1 lately. Love Golf, especially right now, although I'm rubbish at it. You can add to that list for me, Rugby, the worst sport known to man in my opinion, just pure ****. Cycling as well, I don't get why people watch it, it's just people peddling on bikes.
Darts (boring) Snooker (boring) Formula 1 (really boring like watching a large scale Scaletric) Swimming(boring, like watching people swim in straight lines) Squash(boring) Rowing same as swimming just in boats. 3day eventing(horse riding for rich gits) I like football though
Snooker for me, gone right down hill since the legends got to old. Pool, the mosconi cup I think, I reckon they are think they are playing in the Ryder cup equivalent, ****in idiots. Diving into a pool of water to see who makes the smallest splash, **** that.. I'd do a big bomb, spladoosh!!!! Agree with dressage crap. Like most ball sports except us footy n baseball. Not keen on squash, badminton & tennis. Unless you play golf I can appreciate people not liking it, I didn't until I tried it n got hooked, oh n fishing! What's the point of going fishing if your gonna let the ****er go, boring as ****, you may as well watch the grass grow.
I'm not keen on UFC or MMA or whatever you want to call it. I'm sure it's great if you can get into it but to me it looks like a load of tentative fannying about followed by a homo erotic roll on the floor. Boxing any day for me.
Ooh .. the more you understand, the more you respect - even if you never reach the 'like' stage. The first soccer club in the world, outside of U.K. was in the U.S.A. (Boston Orioles, c.1869). But around the 1880s, they - just like us - had choices to make. Here, we split into soccer and Rugby. There, they kinda went towards Rugby and ended up at American Football. I don't like it, never watch it ... but I do respect it. It was part of a process. We went our way, Americans and Aussies went their's. I detest some of their's, almost as much as I detest bloody cricket (aaaaargh, the mind boggling pain of it !!!! ). But roll on, I will respect people's choices, always.
I thought Aussie rules was ridiculous prior to moving here. Strangely enough it's incredibly entertaining once you watch it once or twice and get to know the rules, teams, players and coaches. Headed to the MCG today to watch a game. 70,000 - 80,000 crowd expected. AU$25 (£13) for a ticket, will sit with a beer and a pie in the stands. Not complaining.
I never watch cricket. I used to play for my school and that was good fun but as a spectator sport I can't stand it. Whereas golf and snooker which are equally slow paced I enjoy watching, snooker especially.
Cant watch golf, cricket or F1. I can watch a good game of rugby though. Baseball and basketball.. crap. American football, a long drawn out bore that i can hardly understand. But if they condensed it quite a lot, it may have more appeal and i could watch it.
The personalities or lack of them is what is making a lot of sports a borefest. They are just not there. Even snooker and darts was watchable at one time. Boxing had Tyson. They are juat not there now. Try and think of the last real big personalities in each sport and there is the problem.
