    That went well....
If I'm honest, thought we'd lose, before the start of the game, would have taken a 2-1 loss, so a 1-1 is a Brucie Bonus!
Even though we're at home in the second, could see us playing in a similar manor, them having more of the ball and us trying to him them on the counter.
Or, we go at them at home like we did against Utd.. but, if we do that, we better get a goal if/when on top, the pace in their side, they could rip us apart on the counter, which is something we prevented them from doing for most of the game yesterday.
Was encouraged to see that when we went at them, we created chances, good ones too!
Think both teams will score in the second leg, just hope we get one more than them..

I do like Hendo, but him being injured may be a blessing.. could see Allen come in or.. move Milner into the middle along side Can, which, hopefully means we'll be able to play a front four of Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana and Origi/Studge..

One of the best things about yesterday, all our players on a Yellow didn't pick one up and after this round the Yellows get wiped out.. so, should we make the Semi's we'll have a clean bill of health!

I'm prepared to put Can's slothfulness last night down to his early (unjustified) booking. He did have a few occasions last night when a forward pass to a player (usually Origi) was on, but he didn't take it.

We need to get midfielders closer to both centre backs when they have the ball too. Lovren WAS prepared to hoof it on many occasions, but Sakho, perhaps mindful of the unjustified criticisms of his passing, always tries to hold the ball until a pass is available. Not always the best policy when a team like Dortmund presses and harries. sometimes a lumped ball to a player like origin IS the better option.

It's not a straight choice between being a footballer or a hoofer, it's making the right decision to do whichever is necessary.

Agreed, Lovern's improvement recently has come from his improved decision making, if nothing on, he gets rid, not do what he did under Rodgers, dwell on the ball, give it away and get punished... Sakho did that against Spurs, all their best chances came from him over playing, there's a time to do that and there's time to get it and give it simple, if thats not on, then a long punt to allow you to get back into shape isn't a bad option.
I want my defenders, first and foremost to be able to defend, anything after that is a bonus.

There is a time to pick apart a game and argue the pros and cons of players but I wish we would all just enjoy it when we have a good result like last night and not look to constantly attack some of our own lads. Yes I know it's a forum but I do think some are over critical of certain players.

Lets leave the assassinations for after the Stoke match. <laugh>

I agree, he was rash early on and would chase verything like a rabid dog. He's forming a partnership of some sort with Sakho at this point and that's important to a center back pairing. He's proving that fans need to show patience at times and that we have to admit we were wrong on some of the snap judgements we make, he does push that to the extreme though as he was ****ing terrible.

I'm assuming Lovren is a confidence player. His poor start with us, and the fact that Klopp took him off against Saints because his head wasn't right would suggest that. This is something he needs to work on because a defender who's easily rattled can be a liability.
