Once the Welsh Messi came on I knew we would be OK. Going to be a tough game at Anfield though.

good result for us...away goal. though not as good as Dortmund in midfield I thought Can, Milner Lallana Henderson and Allen put a great shift to blunt them. all run their arses off. the back four all made excellent tackles and blocks and Origi played well up top on his own. Coutinho was never in the game really.

I'm Allen's biggest critic but he played quite well when he came on.

    job done there!

lovrens header couldve won it for us, both him and sakho were fantastic tonight, he is winning me round.

Great disciplined team performance, probably our most confident under klopp in the way we believed in the game plan.
Cant say im that surprised with the result tbh, i had us down for a sneaky 2-1 win
so to the home leg, Bring it on!

That was a great away performance against one of the in form teams in europe and most prolific attacks - great defending, Sakho MOTM and the rest of line were really good as well. Hopefully they can all find some consistency.

Lovren was better than Sakho tonight.

Henderson is injured, none of the players on a booking got a yellow card this game, Firmino will be fully fit for second tie - good times.

1-1 is a good result looking purely at it as a result

Coming out of watching the game we should be coming away with a win there 2-0 or 2-1 ... was a good performance but we're still sloppy at passing, off the pace / laggy defensively (including in the midfield) and finishing is non-existent. People might say their keeper's had a stormer but how often do we hear that of teams against us, isn't it time we should be looking at those instances and saying it's not their keeper having a class night, it's our finishing that is lacklustre, that Origi chance at the and of the 1st half, should be going in that, got to go in infact, this is one of the most important games of our season, his goal also got that lucky deflection

I had us pegged before the match at 0-0 or 1-1 so fairly happy. As we've said, we've got an away goal which gives us the slight edge but they will come at us next week this lot so we've got to be up for it again

Well, after being at a funeral all day I managed to catch the last 32 mins of that game, what a total let down.
Lacking in any sort of skill, flair or quality, if that is two Klopp teams playing then you have a long slow future ahead of you.
I really hope the first hour was better than the last half hour, if not then European football is dead.

Even though you're completely wrong, does it matter? Both were good today, as was the whole line. <ok>

From our perspective, it was controlled, disciplined, tactical. Almost the perfect away performance against one of the most prolific attacks in Europe.

Very poor effort there diego. Your worst wind up in quite some time.

You'll not get bites like this.

Scrapping the away goals rule would help. No need for it at all.

    Without a doubt.
Sakho was lucky that nothing came of a poor pass and he and Can were caught in possession a few times.
    Moreno - words fail me.

Overall a good performance defensively and we looked better organised than I've seen for a long time. Shame we couldn't get Coutinho on the ball much or we might have come away with a win.
