Really looking forward to the racing from Aintree - firstly Limini taking on the boys, especially Buveur D'Air, who will be really suited by the step up in trip. The Mildmay novices chase looks a decent renewal and could start a good day for the Twister with Blaklion. Then comes the monster Vautour to give Paul Nicholls a long face :emoticon-0102-bigsm . Cocktails at Dawn in the Topham or possibly Killer Crow or Fairy Rath <laugh> maybe a nice win for Tomngerry in the Sefton and then my best bet of the day, Ballyandy to take the bumper. Really like this lad, will relish the test up that long Aintree straight <ok>

I'm interested in the money for Top Cat Henry in the Topham. Has Pricewise gone for it? Is it the Waley-Cohen money? Struggling to see why otherwise.

So does Killer Crow win tomorrow? Ran a good race in the Irish national but was only about 2 weeks ago surely he can't be fresh enough to win this ?

With a deluge of rain forecast overnight, old boy melodic rendezvous would relish conditions in the first .otago trail could be a similar bet for me in the 2.50,ignore Venetia at your peril.

Don't know where you read it would rain

Aintree: Ground set to dry out ahead of day two
    BY TOM KERR 6:46PM 7 APR 2016
THE going at Aintree was left as soft on the hurdle and National courses and good to soft, soft in places on the Mildmay course following day one, but dry weather is forecast overnight and during Friday's racing.

The going was changed twice on Thursday morning after a wet and windy night. A further band of rain is forecast on Friday night into Saturday, with clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch predicting that would bring the going on National day back into line with where it was on Thursday night.

He said: "We've left the going unchanged and will be bringing in the rails by 3-4 yards tonight. The jockeys are saying it's riding a bit on the soft side.

"There's a dry forecast tomorrow then a bit of rain into the night and Saturday morning. This morning they were talking about 3 or 4mm, but it might be more than that and it might be less than that.

"National day is looking to be a bit showery, similar to today in that it's going to blow through in the morning then hopefully dry up.

"What impact that has depends on how much it dries out tomorrow, but it will probably keep it about where it is. The ground is likely to be a bit drier tomorrow, so it should be roughly back to where we are."

I think Gods Own @ 5/2 w/o Vautour is a great price! I don't usually bet w/o but apparently Aintree suits him better than Cheltenham and he ran a careers best at the festival. Al Ferof is getting on and the time to catch him is fresh! So aslong as the festival didn't take much out of God Own he is a horse on form and altho won't be good enough to worry Vautour he will be there at the end for minor honours with a doubt

2016 has been stinking for me so far on the horse front, so here are todays losers.

Whiteout - On her when 5th at Cheltenham, is now 8lbs better off with the winner and stays on same mark.
Buveur D'air - The mare jumped much better but she will be put under proper pressure this time and the Henderson horse looks top class with step up in trip to suit.
Un Tempt Pour Tout - Very taking by his win at Chelters, off 148 and won cosily beating Holywell who seemed to also be on a very lenient mark. Blaklion had as tough a race as you could have and dont think he'll be 100% for this.
Vibrato Valtat w/o fav - He was still travelling well(with ground to make up) when falling in the Ryanair, im pretty confident he would have got at least 4th with that performance and that would be good enough for this with Vatour in a world of his own.
As De Mee - 1st chase handicap, has been running very well in top novice chases so far and could be let in nicely here.
Baoulet Delaroque - Weakest grade 1 of the week but looks competitive - he travelled well before being outpaced in the Coral Cup, step up looks ideal. bellshill could be the danger but has had 2 awful races in his last 2 races now.
Ballyandy - Penalised but has shown heart in a couple of his victories now and the Twisters have won 2 of the last 4 of these. Best bumper horse around.

Limini should be stomping this lot into the ground today. How does Mullins and his team find so many ultra high class mares when everyone else struggles?

Gents, how do you watch race form on iPads? I can't get most races to work on the sites I use on desktop... ATR works but only has their races

Hello, I’m Barney Chuckles. You may remember me from threads such as ‘J.P. & A.P. – Are they married now???’ and ‘How much more camper can that boxing thread on here possibly get?!?’

Due to work and spending a week on a half, over the Easter hols, down in Devon its been a few weeks so how did we fare at Cheltenham?!? My highs and lows were all on the Wednesday – ‘The Black Aeroplane’s’ glorious rejuvenation masterfully commanded by the forum’s favourite trainer whilst in the other ‘half’, wearing my ‘county set’ hat, Yanworth’s defeat and Doubly Clever just missing out on a place in the ‘Freddie Winter’. Although to be frank the 7 equine fatalities at the fixture left something of a black cloud over the whole proceedings.

Moving on to more ‘current’ matters today at Aintree the one I like is BAOULET DELAROQUE (4.40). Three times a winner this term this one has really improved in his last two appearances winning at Huntingdon (form franked in no uncertain terms as the 2nd has since won a Grade 2 and the 3rd home placed at a similar level) and then finishing a very, I say very, close 5th in the ‘Coral Cup’. Furthermore, he should relish the step up to 3 miles this afternoon. Today’s Grade 1 that he runs in looks a woefully weak affair, to my eye, and on his recent form Baoulet Delaroque really should take all the beating.

    As always good luck, troops.

    May someone help.

Yesterday I placed a bet that ruby would get 2 winners. My betting count has the bet as still open, does that mean it's open for the whole aintree meet and for ruby to get 2 winners on any day?

Aintree - time to have a good go, missed out yesterday.

    1.40 Ibis du Rheu
    2.15 Limini
2.50 Would like to see Blaklion win but I think Un Temps Pour Tout will go in ( no bet )
    3.25 Vautour, the beast !
    4.05 Minella Reception ( value, 25's ) e/w
    4.40 Potters Legend ( value, 20's ) e/w
5.15 No idea, so go with Ballyandy

Limini and Vautour singles and a double.

    Good Luck.
