We could play 4-4-4 or 5-5-5 and it would make no ****ing difference now. Reason? A. Because we are ****e. B. We dont have enough fit players to play either of those two formations.
I know we are down, pretty much like every Newcastle Fan in the country, I however refuse to believe it. I prefer to be in constant denial until it is mathmatically impssoble for us to stay up. Will we be Southampton, No, Do i believe we can win and start a Run, maybe? I have to believe, its not completely over and until then I still believe we can do it. At this very time last year Leicester were 7 points away from safety, Its possible, anythings possible, lets get to Southampton and take it from there.
Same for me, l know it's all over, but, l can't quite accept it just yet. When it's mathematically impossible and Rafa is hailing his taxi, then l guess l will have to. It's not that l think we don't deserve relegation, we do, we are rubbish, but the thing l cannot quite grasp, cannot come to terms with, is, just how unbelievably rubbish. I keep thinking, it's just not possible and then the table tells me it is. As for the team for Southampton, past caring who he plays, personally l never want to see, Colback, Tiote, Sissoko, Jannmat, Cisse, Gini, Colo, Taylor, De Jong, in a Newcastle shirt ever again. There are probably others too. So who does that leave us with then...........
Darlow ?????? Mbemba. Lascelles. Mbabu Townsend. Saivet. Shelvey. Aaron's Mitro. Perez I really don't know anymore, glad l am not Rafa
Surely Dummett or Mbabu are available? Sissoko at left back is last resort, but if he's not there I'd have him benched. I'd also shift Janmaat out and play Mbemba RB to bring Lascelles into the middle. Lascelles is simply better at heading and clearing the ball, he's then a threat at set plays. The midfield I agree with except swapping wingers and up top picks itself now. De Jong first sub to go 4-3-3 if we're struggling, Aarons could get a run out if we're doing ok.
Can we try Sissoko in goal? He's ****e everywhere else so we may as well try... They should spin the magical wheel of destiny to decide what position everybody plays.
The mind boggles at the thought of it, but I suspect Rafa may be trying to play with some sort of settled side. He isn't going to make wholesale changes to the team, game after game in the vain hope of find some magic formation.
Rafa loves a settled spine. When he was with us he'd play the same 7 players through the middle near on every game and just rotate the wingers and full backs. I still think Rafa was an odd choice at this stage as he's a very stubborn manager and will play how he sees fit and if it isn't working in the first couple he'll stick with it till it works, and he'll get it working... but trouble is, it might be too late by then. If he stays long enough, I can see him falling out with a few players.. he's not exactly a arm round the shoulder type of player and seems some of your, although need a kick up the ass, probably wouldn't react well to one.
We only ever seem to score with BOTH Cisse & Mitro on the pitch... So go for a 4-4-2 with those two starting ... Townsend, JonJo, CM? and Perez Back four of.... does it matter? Pick four people from the stand and get on with lads!
Agreed on Shelvey. Saivet & Gini in the middle for me. Townsend & Either Sissoko or Perez on the wings Don't care which one, neither are like to manage much
Shelvey always piles a 25 yarder in against us... What's been going on guys? I'm afraid I only have a very match of the day highlights insight into Newcastle at the moment, but Wijnaldum looked class when he arrived, and Tiote and Sissoko both looked great at points last year, but now you're never wanting to see them again. Have they become ****, or just not bothered? A really sad state of play, but you're a great club and the league needs a strong Toon. Ashley's a prick of course. That much doesn't take a lot of working out. I do wish your mob the best. You definitely have a chance tomorrow - we're very inconsistent and struggle to create clear cut chances.
Tiote hasn't looked good for a number of year in all honesty. Sissoko can only do one thing which is run with the ball, except he just runs to an opposing player and they take the ball off his feet - he has no end product whatsoever. He is also one of the laziest players I've ever seen. Wijnaldum has talent, I just think he's been dragged down by the cancerous culture in the dressing room. As big a problem is the defence which is just simply awful. Successive seasons of not replacing players in decline, or simply not up to the job, and leaving gaping holes in certain positions in the squad has meant we have actually fielded Sissoko at left back in the last two games. If we play Cisse and Mitrovic from the start tomorrow I think we may have a long shot of eeking out a draw because they will be capable of getting a goal or two and we simply will not keep a clean sheet, so I think the best we can aspire to is a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.
Rafa Benitez is a grubby little dick. Just going to put that out there. We're basically paying the useless **** between actual jobs, and I genuinely don't understand how he gets these amazing offers by the way.
Perhaps because he's won more in his managerial career than NUFC have in the last 60 years. Just a thought.
That's the spirit. Seriously, though, it all just is what it is. I think we, in our state, are lucky to have someone of his calibre. Naturally there's going to be cynicism until we rid ourselves of either the prat at the top, or his minions. I think two more defeats will pretty much do it and I expect us to be all but down by next Sunday. In the Championship, I'd like Ginola given the gig - he's pitched for it enough, has his qualifications and has the kind of charisma and history to unite the city in spite of the owner. Genuinely I think we'll get beat again today and I expect Norwich to win. As I said before, most years see two go down relatively early doors and this year Newcastle and Villa are those two. Then it's one from three, and I still expect Norwich to go down with Sunderland/Palace staying up. Whatever decision we made it was always too late - any managers fate was sealed with the fact our board couldn't buy a defender in January. You only had to look at Norwich - Timm Klose, very good left back, scored - he moved to them in Jan, yet we couldn't find one. I also think Rafa's tactics are wrong. He'll play 4-2-3-1 again, but look up and down the league later on - Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Chelsea will also be playing 4-2-3-1....but they have the likes of Ozil, Mata, Silva and Oscar to make that work. The other teams who are doing so well will be playing 4-3-3 or 4-4-2, because when you have limitations you have to go with formations that bring the team to the fore and not rely on individuals. We should be setting up 4-4-2 today with a view to going 4-3-3 if it's not working. Tiote, Cisse, Sissoko, Wijnaldum have not earned a starting berth, so we should be playing with Aarons, Saivet, Perez and Mbabu but we won't.
