going for a nuts each way with my favourite choker Serge & Ballycasey 66/1 & 80/1 - why not could do with a holiday
Augusta is a course for bombers these days.. No real penalty for straying off the fairway. No secret though with 9 of the top 10 in the betting long off the tee. J.B Holmes 150/1 is my main bet has some great form this season. With a little bit on Moore 125/1 Matthew Fitzpatrick 250/1 Doubled them all up with Ofaolains Boy and The Last Samuri
Anyone see the 9 holes-in-one in the par 3 comp? The three i saw pitched about 20+ft away and fed towards (and into) the hole... Was this a clever marketing ploy by the green keepers?
Unoriginal but I'll be cheering on the Aussies, Day (7/1) and Scott (12/1). My third pick was Charl Swartzel (45/1). Probably the first major in a long time I haven't touched Rory but if anyone's to scupper my bets I'd be delighted to lose out to him.
Rory has the game, but I don't like backing him round Augusta. I feel the place holds bad memories for him, and I'd want to see him lay those ghosts to rest before I back him in a masters. I feel that 4 shot lead collapse has affected his game in every masters since.
Not sure Shergs, I think he's mentally tough enough if he's in position to challenge come Sunday. Hes done the biz in the rest of them, I genuinely can't see him not getting a green jacket sooner rather than later.
Every Masters since he has started poorly and has been miles back on Sunday, and has then stormed up the leaderboard when in theory he's had nothing to play for. I think it's the start that is key for Mcilroy, as I feel he applys so much pressure to himself to win here after what happened, that it often gets to him early on. He's won majors on other courses, he's even won an open and his game isn't suited to Lynx golf, but his game should be much better suited to Augusta, so you have to wonder why he hasn't done better than he has since that day it all went wrong here. So that's why I feel there is a phychological problem for him round Augusta, as his recent efforts have been well below what he's capable of.
Wind's picking up apparently too, so Spieth potentially on the right side of the draw Shergy. I'd be pretty relaxed however if JDs within 3 off the lead by close of play.
Spieth with a great start. I told you Ricky Fowler was ready to join the top table. 8 ****ing over. More chance of me plaiting my own piss than him winning this.
Jason Day is on the charge though -5 through the front 9. Go on Day show them why your world number 1
No tournament won on Thursday lads calm down eh Jerry Lester showing how to play your way out of one though. Day having a nightmare few holes here...He will bounce back though, looking forward to this one as it could shape into a cracker the weekend. Some lad called McIlroy making a move at the moment too.
