Surprised he was out of bed so early to make such a statement. Must have been woken up before 1pm and was therefore in a bad mood. Apparently he wasn't much better when he was asked to explain his radio language in the debrief please log in to view this image
Kid is miles too big for his boots. Thinks a couple of flash overtakes in a pretty good car last year means he's suddenly Champion class. Lest he forget that a couple of super fast drivers who would do a number on him are stuck in a McHonda down the road behind him. I like Sainz, who quietly impresses me, and hope he hammers Max in the infra team battle after some horrendous reliability luck last year. Max V worries me he really does. He's very young and immature and in a sport where you go 200MPH, it doesn't hurt to have a bit more awareness of others. It's hard to learn lessons when you are fast tracked to f1 and I do find him bordering on wreck less occasionally.
Its funny really, because for all the stick Lewis gets/got, when he entered F1 his performances were controlled and he drove within himself and the car. As his status increased he then became more forceful on and off the track. Maybe Max should take a leaf out of his book?
I don't like the way Max has acted here, but Red Bull's conveyor of talent policy is putting their drivers under more strain than most. Who else has to face the potential peak of their career before their 20's.
The drivers are fans of the sport. The governers of the sport are greedy business men. I would trust the drivers to make the rules for the sport.
The irony of it all is that if the drivers had their way the promoters would make more money through a proper exciting sport. Bonkers isn't it.
http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1/opinion/behind-the-scenes-in-formula-1-australia/ Always fun to throw a rumour out there so this weeks is the very early stage discussions of McLaren looking to form a link with BMW...
Im guessing they turned Kimis up to full whack in Oz after the safety car to try it out, and it went kaput. Bittersweet, they have the pace as I said in preseason, it will be the reliability that decides it.
When you look at the championship standings it is in some ways surprising. The season is only two races old so everyone is not exactly where their speed suggests they should be.
Calling bullshit. It's amazing how much Mercedes claims to know about their rival's cars. Only Red Bull know for sure whether the old Ferrari is more or less powerful than the current Renault.
Also if it is true, then the Toro Rosso must be a great car as it's not slow in a straight line, and seems very drivable.
