Interesting that our playesr don't then surround the referee about the handball. It makes it easier for a ref to not give us a decision like that. Could be why it seems luck 'doesn't go our way' - we don't force it to go our way the way some teams do
I know that, I'm just saying it's a stupid law in my opinion. Just how does one determine whether something was deliberate or not? Do referees perhaps have insight to Simpsons' thoughts at the time?
For me, these sort of laws are why referees get complained about so much. I feel sorry for referees - when it comes to things like intent, obviously nobody knows for sure but the player, and the fans in general (although not everyone) tend to automatically side with whatever is most convenient for their team (if it benefits you to be deliberate, it was deliberate. If it would be against you, it's not deliberate). As a result there's always a sizeable proportion of people mud slinging and saying said decisions ruined the game.
