Not a happy lot over there at present, big confidence boost yesterday for City, we owe them one. Really looking forward to it, first half goal so we have something to build on should hopefully see us return with another 3 points. I think Sone did more than enough to retain his place, drop Clueless and bring Abel back in would do for me.
The Channel 5 show last night summed them up perfectly: great individuals but not a team. They're obviously a threat but we need to use yesterday's result as a platform. Scoring the first goal will be crucial as it will either get their fans on their backs or the first goal for them will probably lead to another of those frustrating away days. We need to go there with a positive mindset and make Derby worry about us as opposed to the opposite way round.
I'd be worried if their fans get on their teams back. That can Bly be a good thing if they vent their feelings. It will inspire them
Massive game on Tuesday for sure. Potentially our toughest remaining game, it's the cliche every games a cup final at the moment. Would be a massive 3 points and would keep us in contention for the automatic places.
Why does everyone refer to Clucas as Clueless? I think it's disrespectful to one of our better performers over the course of the season to date. For £1.7m or whatever he cost he's been far superior to other players we've shelled out more on.
Not everyone on here refers to him as clueless, only the know-nowts do. Pressure all on Derby to make the game on Tuesday, the reverse scenario to the game at City last October when Derby won so impressively on the counter. Hopefully, SB will have them well motivated and set up for this one, given that we owe them one.
You can't say that Kemps, they pay their money they're entitled to abuse players anyway they want ........ same as ****in' booing, you and me need to get with the programme mate!
Good time to play em. Derby looked impressive when they turned us over. Ince will be looking to do us if he plays, possibly our final chance to close the gap.
A draw wouldn`t be a disaster, but hoping for a win. Take our chances and it`s there to be had providing we turn up with the right attitude.
Let me thumb through my old book of football cliches... Ah yes....here we are. "Keep it tight for first 25 minutes then watch their fans get restless and edgy. Then they get impatient and start to get on the players' backs, and with any luck they'll start booing their own team, resulting in an even edgier and nervous performance." That's the theory anyway and works for most teams. Not for ours of course, where the booing serves to spur the players on, or at worst 'vents frustration' for people who feel shortchanged that we don't lead every half of every game.
I think a draw is probable, but if we score first then a win is surely possible. If we do win, I would hope that we don't look upon it as a great success in our hardest run-in game and let a 'we've sussed it' attitude creep in, which I think has played a big part in earlier cock-ups. One game at a time, take the game to them. UTT
It really isn't our final chance of closing the gap. Not even "possibly the final chance" We have another chance next weekend, another when we play our game in hand, another the weekend after & the weekend after that, another when those above us play each other. We have plenty more chances to close the gap regardless of the result on Tuesday.
Really? We lose on Tuesday & view it as possibly our last chance of closing the gap? That's giving up. We need to fight & believe 'til the end, supporters & players alike.
Burnley are strong and won't blow a seven point lead on us although we do have a game in hand. If we keep winning Boro are catchable but I feel that late goal up there gave them the final push they needed.
Football always has a strange way of surprising you, I don`t believe that Burnley are home and dry yet, they aren`t particularly playing well at the minute but getting the results and the run of the ball, things can change in an instant. This league still has all to play for and the more us and Brighton get results, the more the top two will feel it. It`s down to us to keep up the pressure.
