Read more: http://stmarysmusings.sbnation.com/...uth-fan-to-get-southampton-tattoo-for-charity Just wanted to publicise this. Good cause etc. Apologies if deemed inappropriate, mods, but I thought it was a chuckle and also an amusing/nice reason to publicise. DTLW
Only 200 quid? Jeez what a tool. I mean, nice one for doing charity stuff, but he's gonna regret that. Seems he might be a closet Saint. EDIT: Don't know anything about the lad btw. If he has cancer I take everything back and wish him a full recovery. Same goes if its for someone he knows. Still, 200 quid! Madness.
£200 seems a particularly low bar to set for this kind of thing. But who am I to complain. I hope his £200 target ends up getting broken easily.
I'd wait until I see the context of the badge....might be being violated. That's what I would do if I was daft enough to have a tattoo. Good on him for raising money for charity.
Once completed & monies banked for the said charity, bet he then offers similar to get removed & then doubles / quadruples money raised! smart!
You miserable buggers. Donate. I see the driver was his daughter being ill. Gets me every time. Stupid sod!
I thought he'd make £200 easily. He will eventually. Just later rather than sooner. He's a bit closer now.
There is a lot of people pushing hard with the guilt trip to get others to support this. The message is posted and I think people should now make their own choices. It's a good cause as are many of the causes that post requests for financial support in the forum. No need for the extra pushes as it is equally as worthy as those other causes that people may have already supported. Just saying
Ok, I should have added "other good causes are available". Pleased to see that he has made his target anyway.
I'm assuming it is largely Saints fans who have contributed to this. Quite clever reasoning by the man really. Is this going to be a genuine Saints tattoo or a piss on the Saints emblem tattoo?
I still suspect that our badge will be desecrated in some way and we are paying for it. However, won't matter to the charity. Good luck to him.
Unusually, FLT, I disagree with you. The principle that once a post is out there it should simply live or die according to its merits is one with which I would generally agree. However, I make no apology for "pushing" this thread. My logic is that these "good cause" threads often get lost in the traffic, and I know that people will think "oh yes, must do that" and then don't because of the effort required rather than lack of generosity. When I last posted the guy was still on not much more than my donation! That he has actually passed the total could be seen as evidence that the pushers were justified. None of this detracts from the point that in general your post is spot on. I think that this deserved an exception, and you clearly don't. Good. It's called healthy debate. Have a good day, mate.
