Blimey, get back from hol's, looking distinctly like a peperami with a tan, to see our boys are so close to safety, great news for us fans.

Guidolin, with Curt, has done a job since his arrival. His aim was simple, win enough points to fulfill the overall objective of safety, and we're nearly there. Three points for sure will do it and personally, I couldn't care less if we built a brick wall behind Fabianski and played hoofball for 90 minutes to get them.

Right now points are everything and style is just an affect. Win enough points and we can all look forward to a summer rebuild and next season we can get back to playing football without the fear which is how we've played since Christmas.

Rodgers? I'd take him back in a heart beat, and Joe too. Don't see how some think Joe wouldn't be good for us, imo, he'd fit midfield like a Lycra body suite. He'd add more to our midfield than Leon simply because, he is the more skillful of the two. He has a better passing range, shot and is more effective in attack than Leon. I don't see Joe as a replacement for Leon as Leon is a DM and Joe is more CM and Leon wins hands down as a DM.

Another name I've heard mentioned is De Beor, but apparently, he's a no go, his ambitions are elsewhere and Berkamp was never a target.

First I've heard of that. You may well be right but what's your source? Last I heard De Boer was dropping heavy hints about Swansea though that was a while back. Anyway, looks like the momentum is behind Rodgers.

I think we shouldn't wait till summer to bring in Rodgers , do it now .
Firstly , Rodgers could use these remaining games to get up to speed and work on a few things .
Secondly ,having to watch Guido reacting to rumours of Rodgers coming in and seeing Guido relegated to having to say it doesn't bother him while saying he would like to be our manager next season is to much to stomach for me .
Thirdly , if we leave our current manager in place any longer he might drag us into the top ten ...hope Guido takes Paloschi with him ( being extremely sarcastic here , for those not ....well , to busy figuring out what their group is deciding ) , 2 goals from 5 starts and a couple of sub appearances just isn't cutting the mustard .

<laugh> Paloschi has done more in his limited time than Gomis who has had more than enough chances. As for Guidolin, his lineup today was all wrong, with no width and little pace. Posters on the forum said so as did the people I watched the game with. Guidolin's changes were effective, but reactive when we went behind and that's no way to run a football team because sometimes you can pull it off, sometimes you can't. I don't necessarily blame Guidolin, it's the Italian way (The Tinkerman excepted).

This was a weakened Stoke team today and although I didn't think we'd get anything from the game I hate to see us play that negative diamond **** from the start. Provided we stay up, if Guidolin is here in August I fear for us.

Does anyone else see Paloshi as a bit of a super sub, he has good pace and an ok touch, when defenders are fit and full of energy at the start of the game he gets bullied and isn't strong enough. When he comes on later in the game, defenders are more tired and there is a bit more space and time for him and his pace and awareness benefits from this. The only problem with that is Gomis has to play for 60 mins.

He'd be a decent back up if we had someone like Bony.

Source is the same guy who told me about Rodgers Kiff. De Boer did say nice fluffy things about us post Monk but mainly he announced his interest in managing in the prem. He wants a top 6 team anyway, although I don't think he's any near that good, and we never spoke to Berkamp.

The Rodgers rumours do seem to be growing but, as with all things Swansea, who knows? we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Not sure about Rogers, may start well but could slip away with results like Monk did. They say never go back.
One thing the team needs a major rebuild, Gomis out for obvious reasons and the back four needs restructure with Rangel and Taylor need to be fringe players rather than starters. Need more drive from midfield also. Allen would be good to come back.

wtf is this love affair with Allen????? he is crap, is it because he is an ex Swan or he is Welsh? agree with WWG, major rebuild and I am going to be harsh here, Fab (is he interested anymore?), Rangel, Britton, Ki, GOMIS, I don't think Fer is the answer however he is on loan. Ones I would keep would be easier, Siggy, Cork, Montero, Barrow, Ash (for one more season), Ferdy, Kingsley, Naughton, Taylor (bench) more to follow

No love affair Musty, I just see whats in front of me and I see Allen as a decent and capable player and it doesn't matter what shirt he used to wear. He could be Australian and played for the Redlands City Devils for all I care, makes no difference, Allen is a good player whatever shirt's on his back.

I'm veering to undecided on Allen. Like Musty, I'm not convnced he's better than what we have but he has improved of late and has played well for Wales. Depends how much they want for him I guess.

Imo Allen has the edge over Fer, Ki and Cork (could put Leon in here too). Siggy is our main man but after him in midfield I don't see any competition for Allen.

Allen is actually very underrated imo.

The amount of times he comes on because we need a steady head is unreal - and he nearly always does the job required of him.

He should move on (although I'd keep him personally) for his own career tbh.

I agree. Allen is head and shoulders above Ki, Fer and Cork IMO. I think coming back would be good for club and player and I'd even tag him as our future captain, after Ash.

He's better than Ki and Fer and I'd now put him right on par with Leon.

A midfield of Cork, Joe and Gylfi could be great.

Defensively Cork has the edge over Joe, but with the ball, Joe all day long <ok>

Leon needs to hang up his boots now or he will get hurt, he is far to lightweight and too old to cope with an ever growing trend to beef up teams. He should retire gracefully while he can.....Bring Joe back or get someone younger and no midgets as that trend is dying out as teams look for midfielders with muscle and strength.. Teams are getting bigger and fitter and like we saw at stoke that Leon was disposed with ease by Stoke's bigger players and we had to take him off or he could have got hurt....
