Bit early i know guys but thought i would post this up now! Up next then is Southend at Roots Hall and lambert has promised a role reversal of Tuesdays narrow defeat to Crystal Palace. Though the lads put in a good shift and performance, no goals were scored to reward them for this and so we must put that right Thursday night in essex. Im expecting another tough game, though i think lambert will want the team to up the anti a bit more for this game. Role reversal! Does this mean we shall see the side that finished the palace game start the southend game? Im expecting so, with a team facing coventry saturday which will be of what lambert has in mind for the first time which could face wigan. I think a win is on the cards here, so im going for a 3-1 Norwich win and first scorer will be Hoolahan. Feel free to guess the scoreline and first scorer.. Norwich City :- Rudd (GK), Naughton, Drury, Whitbread, Barnett, Fox, Bennett, Johnson, Hoolahan,Morison, Surman Southend Utd :- Morris (GK), Clohessey, Hall, Mohsni, Grant, Harris, Johnson, Phillips, Prosser, Kalala, Barker OTBC ILWT
Well it will be role reversal I think. The lads that got 20 mins the other day will get 60ish today. It will be very interesting to see these players and how a potential second string gel. It's as important to have players ready to come into a setup through injury or suspension as a first string that is well gelled If we have 11 lads all playing well together that's great but changes happen, it's the nature of the season. We have to have players that can instantly gel into the first squad, thats why these Pre-season games are vital. It's all fitness and teambuilding. A win for city, say 2-0.
Not that i know of northampton!! It will be interesting to see who line-up firstly out of naughton and martin at RB?? I would imagine line-up announcement with in the next half hour...
Good call ICHB, squad is Rudd, Naughton, Drury, Whitbread, Barnett, Fox, Bennett, Johnson, Hoolahan, Morison and Surman. 4-2-3-1?
Well done DM, bit behind this end! missus on the computer. Im liking that starting line-up. Glad to see drury back in there, the thought of naughton and bennett on the right aswell is exciting. First glimpse of what the future may hold that side of the field... OTBC
"Looks like Steve Morison is playing as a lone striker with Wes just off him and in front of a midfield of Fox, Johnson, Surman & Bennett"
Seems southend are pressing us early here. This is there last friendly so players are going to want to put in there claim for a first team start for the league!, and they certainly are going for it by the sounds of it...
Hoolahan nearly makes it 1-0 but the keeper gets the slightest of touches to clear the ball. 0-0 Other news Jed Steer signs new contract till 2013 and has joined yeovil on a 3 month loan with a 24hr recall included.
26 - Hoolahan skips his way past two defenders but his shot is then blocked. Still has that real pre-season feel to it mind Boots,
