What is the news with regard Squire tomorrow Stick? I would have read it as a nice quiet pipe opener but am surprised to see Rab travelling over for the one ride. Good luck with your second season with him, if he gives anywhere near as much as last season I have no doubt you will be delighted.
Good luck Stick, hope he goes well. Selection tomorrow is Pearl Nation in the 3.25 and I've put the rationale on my blog. Feel free to pop across and have a read if you are interested. Synopsis is that he's very good at Southwell and race looks perfect for him.
He has done really well over the winter mate, strengthened up a bit and looks to have progressed. We believe he can improve this season especially if he ever relents to settle and we would like to think he will finish this season a 90 plus horse. He will definitely come on for the run tomorrow as although he is working really well he is still a little dull in his coat. He will be trying, he is impossible not to try with but the all weather didn't see him at his best last season. He runs tomorrow to get him in the best shape possible for his turf campaign but also to qualify him for the London Mile just in case he actually does get his act together on the surface. The race should be run to suit as there are at least three that will want the lead so he will get the good gallop that might help him sit handy. Thanks for the good wishes, I think we will enjoy this season as we did the last.
All the best with Squire stick and Don. Hope he comes out of the race well and you have a very enjoyable season with him. PS, How is Buzz progressing?
Thanks for the update Stick - very kind of you to be so fourth coming with news as you were all last season. If he has improved as you suggest he will certainly be competitive in some very decent grade races this season, I will enjoy following him again as I am sure all will on here.
Fancy a few at prices tomorrow so going to play an EW L31 Ballytober 5.15 8/1 Spinning Pearl 4.55 8/1 Heads You Win 3.15 9/1 Iconic Figure 2.20 15/2 Claim The Roses 3.25 10/1
Really well Ron and a public thank you for your advice. He had his first proper gallop at the weekend and we hope to have him on the track in mid April. He will always have a very nasty scar but he is so lucky to be getting back fit again. Thanks for asking.
Wouldn't put you off at all, not many in the race who are positive on breeding and whilst Exchange Rate hasn't had a winner on the surface, he has the right breeding to be effective.
Further to this. The positive on breeding is Shamardal (Pivotal ok too) so I'd be wary of the Johnston horse.
I was just about to say that. Especially given the form of Johnston, could well prove a different prospect on the surface. Shamardal is definitely one to keep onside here most times. Not getting heavily involved, it just came up in a discussion with a friend earlier and it's never any harm to hear others views
Thanks guys looking forward to getting his season going and Stick has summarised perfectly. I have also got Aksum running at Lingfield for the first time since i brought a share of her. She is much better than her rating on the gallops and we are expecting her to go very close indeed.... 43-1 the double with Squire!
Stick and The Don for the great info! To compare: if the don was rich richie I would be backing Aksum for The Grand National such is the poor quality of info he shares!
