Thought I'd make a thread to track all of our players during this international break: The players called up are: Danny Drinkwater - England Jamie Vardy - England N’Golo Kanté - France Riyad Mahrez - Algeria Jeffrey Schlupp - Ghana Daniel Amartey - Ghana Shinji Okazaki - Japan Kasper Schmeichel - Denmark Christian Fuchs - Austria Wes Morgan - Jamaica Tom Lawrence - Wales Harry Panayiotou - St. Kitts and Nevis Demarai Gray - England U21 Ben Chilwell - England U21 Daniel Iversen - Denmark U19 The following players played today: Shinji Okazaki- Japan 5-0 Afghanistan (Started, scored 1 goal) Kasper Schmeichel - Denmark 2 - 1 Iceland (Started) Tom Lawrence - Wales 1 - 1 Northern Ireland (Started) Jeffrey Schlupp - Ghana 3 - 1 Mozambique (Subbed on) Daniel Amartey - Ghana 3 - 1 Mozambique (Subbed on) Daniel Iversen - Serbia U19 2 - 2 Denmark U19 (Started) Rather good day for the lads and their teams.
He's been fantastic for us this season! Without him, Vardy would have been much less effective. I've lost count of the number of times he's been scythed down by opposition players but he just gets up again and carries on - he's as tough as they come, just like Vardy.
He reminds me a bit of Heskey and Dickov - they take all of the hard knocks from the opposition and allow the more creative players to flourish while popping up with a goal or two.
I think he meant more in terms of goalscoring. He's done everything else brilliantly I agree but I'm sure he'd be the first to say he'd expect to score more
Just seen the goal that Okazaki scored - know that it was only against Afghanistan but was a really nice goal.
The following players played today: Riyad Mahrez - Algeria 7-1 Ethiopia (Started, got at least two assists) (EDIT - he got four assists) N’Golo Kanté - Netherlands 2-3 France (Sub, first cap) St. Kitts and Nevis and Jamaica play around midnight GMT - will look tomorrow if Harry Panayiotou & Wes Morgan played.
Wes Morgan Jamaica 1 - 1 Costa Rica (Started) Looks like St. Kitts and Nevis might be playing tonight. Also Vardy and Drinkwater won't be starting today - Drinkwater will start against Netherlands on Tuesday apparently http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35849556 please log in to view this image
Demarai Gray assist for England U21's. Vardy and Drinkwater on the bench for England for no other reason than.....they play for Leicester and Hodgson thinks we're ****e!!
Well I also wouldn't start Vardy - wrong style of play to start for England. He has a big role as an impact sub though and credit to him for that
Woy playing all the Spurs players tonight probably to give them a break Tuesday and play Vardy and Drinkwater. Trying to hand Spurs the title on a plate....
The following players played today: Jamie Vardy - Germany 2 -3 England (Sub, scored first goal!) Christian Fuchs - Austria 2 - 1 Albania (Started) Harry Panayiotou - St. Kitts and Nevis Demarai Gray - Switzerland U21 1 - 1 England U21 (Started, assist) Daniel Iversen - France U19 4 - 0 Denmark U19 (Started) Congratulations to Vardy but is a hard learning experience for young Iversen - hopefully he will learn from the heavy loss.
England under 21's manager Gareth Southgate on Demarai Gray “We sensed that it was a good moment for Demarai in the way that he trained – it was a super debut,” he said. “He was a threat all night and I think the work he did at the goal was exceptional but he also put a real shift in for the team and did his work off the ball.
The following players played today: Jeffrey Schlupp - Mozambique 0 - 0 Ghana (Started) Harry Panayiotou - Aruba 0-2 St. Kitts and Nevis (Started, scored) Here is a great fact for you all as well: Dave Smith@fossilsandfoxes Harry Panayiotou takes over as #LCFC all time leading international goalscorer with his 5th for St Kitts & Nevis overnight #fossilsandfoxes
