According to the Mirror he is prepared to sell his majority stake for at least £200,000,000;this would cover his investment over 8 years.
Whether Byrne's fiasco was the last straw or whether he hasn't the stomach for the annual struggle. Is this the time to look for a rich Arab owner..

Wanting to sell & finding a buyer are two completely different things.

Everything points to him balancing the books to **** off. The gambles he's taken to try and get us back in the black have been stupid imo and will bite him in the arse if we go down. He'll be stuck with us then. Stay up and get rid sounds wonderful. Finding buyers for a prem club should be easy enough. Find a buyer and getting his investment back as a Championship team. Impossible imo.

Had he done what Man c and Chelsea have done, we would be worth about £500 m by now. We have had that many chances over the years, I bet if Leeds came up they would spend big, but get the right, experienced manager in first like Mr Short should have done (Mancini, Ancelotti, Wenger) etc. If you got relegated next year with £100 m in the bank, spend £20m on players and get straight back up, easy.

The Mirror. Is that Newcastle Utd's preferred media partner by any chance???

Sounds like bullshit to try and deflect away from Mike Ashley's recent media output.

I would love to have such a simplistic view of the world. Life must be so easy.

I had a feelin the papers would dig for dirt following the court case - imo this is the beginnings of dirt gathering to destabilise and unsettle club with the hope that further real dirt incl names will come out -

Ellis Short is a business man, a very successful one at that so i doubt very much the accuracy of this stupid report. Not one quote from anyone associated with the club by the way, just all made up ****e.

He may well want to sell, but as a business man, he knows now is not the time to sell. If we survive then yes, i can see him putting the club on the market, if we go down then the value of the club will plummet way beyond what Short wants for it. He won't do that, he'll more likely attempt to get the club back in the EPL and then sell.

Having said that, he's buckled with cash so my just decide to cut his losses and run, somehow i don't think he'll do this.
