Way too late for me Dennis. Eubank Sr was even saying 2 rounds earlier the ref isnt going to stop this for some reason. The two idiotic commentators were bullshitting it saying it was closer than it was. He never won a round
Feel sorry for Brook. Cant seem to get the big fights, must be too awkward, no one wants to fight him.
That's what happens when players have the confidence to run at their opposition and take them on. Quickly closed them down, passed quickly through midfield, fullbacks created plenty of width and pressure. It was a top top performance. I'd have to say, some of that was down to Spurs with their pressing game - those Spurs players transitioned well into the England side. Then throw in the confidence and clinical finishing of Vardy and Germany hadn't known what hit them. England are gonna win the Euros (well, we won't.. They always do this to us. Get our hopes up... But we can enjoy it at least).
Did you notice that the players of both teams had sensible haircuts? You see so many players messing about with stupid haircuts but the players tonight have shown that the best way to get noticed is by your football.
I went to the game. Its was Mori struggling with Okazaki, Mori dragged Okazaki down for our 1st peno. Stones job was to mark Vardy which he done well except one occasion where he lost Vardy and he got punished for it
Ignore it come the pressure of tournament football we will recede and crumble. Do not get caught up in the billshit hype that the press will project.
The thing is, if we play a team similar to last night or at least these kind of players we actually will have a chance to go far! The old owl will revert to his normal ways and if he does, I'll lost no sleep if we have a repeat of the last World Cup
Blackwell in hospital. Early reports said bleeding on the brain, although later were less worrying Fingers crossed he's ok http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/nick-blackwell-hospitalised-after-losing-to-chris-eubank-jr/
I think it's ridiculous to contemplate not taking Rooney. You can't argue that his England goalscoring record is good even if his United goals have dried up. Do you honestly think that the Germans worried were Klose's goals came against or that Gomez hasn't scored for them in nearly 4 years? He goes, however starting is a different issue. I think you start Varney and Kane and then build the team around that plan. You have to anticipate one needing to be rested or getting injured, and I'd rather have Rooney as CF than Sturridge. On a slightly different note, what about Defoe, he has consistently scored in a poor Sunderland side. Does he deserve consideration?
Woy's likely squad (not mine): Hart, Butland, Forster Clyne, Stones, Smalling, Cahill, Jagielka, Bertrand, Rose 8 of these 10: Henderson, Wilshere, Delph, Milner, Dier, Sterling, Walcott, Alli, Barkley, Lallana Rooney, Welbeck, Vardy, Kane, Sturridge Missing out: 2 midfielders from above, Walker, Jones, Gibbs, Baines, Shaw, Shelvey, Drinkwater, Carrick, Oxlade-Chamberlain. I think Walcott will miss out (unless Sturridge is injured, which is likely) and Wilshere may not win his fitness battle (but Milner may drop out if he does). Never even considered by RH: Shawcross, Cresswell, Noble, Antonio, Defoe, Deeney.
Woy is very forward thinking for one of his generation, nice not to see a backbone of experienced has beens running through the side.
I agree about Rooney but people have trouble separating club form and international selection. If you picked the most in form PL 11 for each England fixture there would be no fluency or constancy in the team, it would be a bunch of strangers and they'd be terrible. The manager has to pick players he can trust and perform consistently for him and when the team has just gone through qualifying unbeaten of course he's going to take the top scorer in that campaign.
Roy is forward thinking for one of his generation? He is born in 1947, the same year as Cruyff. Ferguson was born 6 years earlier so can be said th be of the same generation. Hiddink s another of the same age,
Yes, you are quite right, but what I find somewhat refreshing is Roy's use of young in form players, unlike some previous England managers who tended to recycle the same old faces.
Woy said on TalkSport that Rooney will go if fit. Rooney will tell him he's fit and that means he's on the plane and no doubt in the starting eleven, which based on last nights performance will be a backward step. Reg'…?!!
Yes i will use that judgement in tournament footballl. 2 great goals from Kane and Vardy though just need to keep Rooney away from the 1st eleven
Deeney is in talks to play for Northern Ireland, could make his debut just before the Euros in the pre tournament friendly. Massive boost for them if they get him.
