I would pick after some thought a team that imagines each player on top of their game during their time to form the best team if they could play collectively tomorrow in current football standards... Adjusting the fact that the game has changed completely ........................Parkes...................... Bardsley.McLintock.Parker.Wilson ..............Wilkins.....Francis............... Thomas.................................Taarabt ............Bowles......Ferdinand............. Each player on top of their game We would be super tight without the ball as Francis and Wilkins could patch up Adel's lack of defensive qualities With the ball going forward can't pick a better set of players than the four above with Francis arriving every time on time in the box Frank and Parker best markers and best in the air ... Remember Parker can jump 3 foot off the ground Taarabt would win us games and pens and Wilson never misses The crab Wilkins was the best at controlling a game and knew when to kill a game plus he could pass the ball better than anyone I have seen There needs to be a computer game made for exactly this ... Is there one?
McClintock, Webbie, McDonald and Roeder were all giants in their time as well, as is Clint. Gorks was very decent as well, we let him go far too quickly.
It's nice to see some fondness for Raymondo. His ill-fated time as our manager has tarnished a lot of memories of what a good player he was. The fact that he could dictate a game without really moving all that much was just incredible. He didn't really kick the ball - he caressed it!
Parkes Gilard McDonald Keen Clement Masson Thomas Gregory Bowles Morgan Bedford Subs Seaman Bardsley Wicks Parker Sinton Marsh Leach Manager Alec Stock
Great to see Brian Bedford in your team, he was my favourite many years ago. Plus Ray Drinkwater in goal?
Barker was always one that was under-rated and yet probably one of the first names on the list to play.
