I really like this, especially when HBA is out and we dont feel the need to play him in the centre in a 4-2-3-1

Yeah sorry this was for Le Arse game, be nice to have the dilemma of where HBA fits in once he's fit.

We've got a bit of an issue with Ben Arfa though, because when he's not available we dont have a natural attacking midfielder to play his role, we'd just be using a winger, or Cabaye, who arent used to the role. Be nice if we put a little faith in Vuckic and said he could be direct cover for HBA.

Cabaye played as playmaker at Lille 2/3 seasons ago I think before Sow & Gervinho came in & scored quite a few goals.

    unfortunately my source is wikipedia

as long as we have barton against arsenal I can only see god things happening they're still having nightmares... but if we got erdinc would you pick him or Ba as soon as HBA returned?

Think we'll play 2 out & out strikers against weaker teams so probably both Ba & Erdinc, maybe HBA sitting in the hole behind them. Dunno, still have to drop someone.

True but not off the striker like HBA, just advanced a little bit like Lampard in Chelsea's 4-3-3 (positionally), for example.

woeful defending granted. but can you imagine him doing this against Sunderland 118 mins into an 4th Round FA Cup replay?? hmmmm, the lads got skills. He could be backup for Jonas but I believe in the not so distant future that Jonas is going to have to step his game up to keep his place. He can run but his shooting of dire and is crossing is dire. not really the best things for a winger to be bad at !

Really including Enrique? God I hope we keep him. Although the clock may not be on our side for strikers, maybe it is for Enrique to stay?

Honestly cant see Enrique staying with us after that rant, it basically proved what we feared all along, that he was very unsettled and wants to be playing at a team with more ambition, I honestly think if we had spent more of the Carroll money and strengthed in more areas he would want to stay right now. Shame.

Gosling got pissed off for being played in stupid positions at Everton, and this has just proved why.

Nolan was box to box, but looking at that there, Gosling was there quicker, and seemed to offer a bit more. Nolan was fantastic at what he did, 12 goals proved that, but Gosling looks like a very decent replacement there.

He will get some game time at Leeds as well as against Fiorentina. But whilst Ben Arfa is injured, who is someone everyone would have had in their team, I fail to see why Gosling can't perform there?

Pardew has a problem, but I have a bad feeling about Ben Arfa, I feel like he is going to be injured all the time. Barton has to play on the right for me, Cabaye and Tiote also have to play. I would prefer it if Marveaux came good, but away from home, Gosling could be a good player to play behind 1 striker. Its a nice problem to have, but Gosling has always impressed me, even at Everton.

We will also have a Carling Cup game in August, would be nice for him, Vuckic and Abeid to get games. If he proves his worth constantly, how can you leave him out? It would be stupid.

Pretty sure Jonas is a winger mate. If ur on about Gosling then what I mean is that it's the only position he could get into a regular role. He won't touch CM with Cabaye and Tiote in there. SS would b good. It's rightly been stated that there's no reason he couldn't do it.
